Start from those artists, they're very good.
If I were you, start from old-school and go towards the present.
Check this out:
Freestyle - Don't Stop The Rock
Freestylers - Drop The Boom (Adam Freeland Remix) |

listen to Icey's
Essential Mix
There's a lot of just classic breaks on that mix, mainly, my all favorite cheesy break track Kaycee - Escape.
Hmm this mix also sounds DnB-ish. as well. Basically... get this mix.
GREAT CD. Get it.
EDIT: in fact, holy im listening to this cd again right now... **playing: Crustation - Purple (Freestylers Remix) [01:26 | 04:17] / 160 Kbps**

DJ Icey is the godfather of breaks. Everything your hear now breaks wise is or has evolved from his style. We now have all the various styles that sound so phat and go with just about anything.
My fav Icey cd is called "Mixed". His cds and his productions do not do his live sets justice. He is 10 times better live.
Baby Anne has muched improved over the years check her out too.
Another up and comming DJ/producer to watch out for is UrbanJ from Miami. All the breaks dj's accross the US and UK are spinning his stuff. check out www.urbanj.com |
