Solarstone Review! (pg. 8)

yo! i guess here is my account of the night that transpired this past Friday Night.
I had to work from 1215pm-8:45pm it was a super busy day, unlike any normal friday. We had like no breaks all day. I was dead frickin tired because i got very little sleep the night before. i didnt like the supervisor that was workin that day because i know he's a hard ass. i knew he wouldnt let me leave early if i asked him. so i put on this act that i was super sleep deprived and not fit for duty. 5pm rolls around and my coworkers are all worrying about me. my goal was to get outta there by 6pm. 6pm rolls around and still no luck. i finally get pulled aside from the supervisor and he lectures me about being responsible and all this other bull. he lets me leave at 715pm. i was in lucky! i sped home...goin 70 in a 45. LOL...got ready and then went over to pick up LOMELI.
We hit the freeway shortly before 8pm and head over to Club Heaven. We were bumpin some Global DJ Broadcasts via LOMELI's laptop that we connected to my stereo. We were laughin about Markus' slight lisp. I said that he sounds like a person trying to do a really bad Cartman impersonation. His radio voice is a lil bad. Nothing like mine of course. ;-). hahahaha. Anyways, we get to the club a lil before 10pm. Parked the car in valet and then walked over to the ticket booth thing.
We saw several people outside of the club waiting and i thought to myself "damn, theres a lot of people here already..." I walked up to the guestlist window and gave the dude my ID. He's searchin and searchin...flippin through pages and ...no luck. He couldn't find my name on the list. I told him "I have my own guestlist, my name is on there, look again!" He then replies with a surprised look on his face "Your own guestlist? Are you a performer?" I laughed and told him no. So then I put some clues together and figured out that another event was going on inside The Vanguard. I found Leon and asked him what was going and he said Heaven will open at 1030pm. He said we could go chill on the patio tho.
I was chillin at that time with Lomeli, Dimensions, Xtracktor, Electrophile, and Clovis. Those ******s are all damn funny. Anyways, a line starts forming for the guestlist. and we were there waiting forever. everyone's all givin me cuz i put peeps on the guestlist line and we werent moving at all in the line. finally we get our passes and zoom straight to the front of the line on the right. cuz we were VIP. ya know how we roll especially on my guestlist. comps and . i got the hookup. [email protected][/email] for heaven guestlist (hookups) ya know what im sayin? LOL. hahahahaa.
I went inside and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! it looks so much different compared to the last time I went which was for Ton TB/Jes Brieden. The sound system was phat and the lighting was sick. the stage looked so much better. i definitely approve. i still dont like the in corralling of the 21+.
I finally got to see Bas again after not seeing him since Love Parade in SF. Good seeing you again man.
Kristina Sky threw it down as always puttin on some sick ass tracks. She's gonna be a BIG name in the near future for sure. Does she produce her own tracks at all?
THen my homeboy KENOSIS takes to the decks and throws it down with the sweet hard trance sounds. He played some banging . It was cool that he did the "symbol" (raising his arm and touching his wrist as to signify "ITS TIME!") when he played his own track. It was in insane. It was my first time seeing him spin at a club. The only time before I saw him spin was on my radio show. His sets on his website are in dope and you should definitely download them. www.djkenosis.com.
then motherin SOLARSTONE came on the decks and like everyone has been saying, started off a little slow but then got harder. every track was better than the last. i was dancing up a f'n storm. i had a ton of fun listening to his set.
i took some breaks every once in a while and went upstairs and checked out some dude's throwing down some sick ass trance up there.
it was awesome seeing all the TA's. Hypersky, Carriegsxr6, Neinerlove, Sweetcandygirl, Jebus, Refuge, Xtracktor, Clovis, Bas, Dimensions, Electrophile, Philippe, Sebby, and everyone else. Its always fun when a bunch of TA's are around.
I was impressed with Solarstone. I had no idea that there were skills beyond producing/remixing. The DJ skills were phat. =) I would definitely see Solarstone again if there was ever another LA appearance.
After Club heaven, we all headed to Tommy's. It was me, bas, Lomeli, dimensions, refuge, electrophile, xtracktor, clovis, and kenosis. omg that was the in most ive ever laughed in my life i think. the that was being said..."bootleg tiesto"..."bas in concert"....bas talkin about in sasha and fellating digweed. bas callin Lomeli "alucard"....bas talkin about glasses formin out of his face from doing so many drugs. I will never forget that night. it was just too much. way too much. i wish i remembered it all or f'n recorded it. hahahaha.
i followed electrophile back to his pad cuz me and Lomeli were gonna crash there. It was insane. we changed like 30 different freeways just to get to his f'n house. i was driving 100mph and falling asleep at the wheel. ya know how i roll. made it to electrophile's pad alive. crashed out on his bed with another dude while he slept on the floor in the living room. no im not gay damnit! we were on opposite sides of the bed and had pillows between us. ha wtf. electrophile talkin . wtf. LOL.
club heaven was in dope. it is becoming one of my favorite clubs. Spundae has been wack lately and its been a long time since ive been able to make it to avalon. Club Heaven is so sick that it should go see a doctor or something. LOL. [email][email protected] for guestlist nigga. ;-) |

Kristina has gotten very good in the past year, and I can only see things getting better for her.
I did that sign just for you, Curly. People's reactions to the track were kinda funny. About 3/4 of the people there were loving it; about 1/4 of them were kinda like "huh?". It's just very aggressive, and the breakdown is only about 55 seconds long (I hate long breakdowns! :P) It was fun to hear it over such a powerful system, though now on the latest version I took the kick and the bassline down about 5% to bring out the highs more. I'll be putting up a larger sample of it on the productions section here this week. |

| I didn't get to the club until midnight. Looks like I missed out on Kristina's set. I'm sure she did extremely well. As for DJ Kenosis, man that was a great re-edit of Greece 2000. I got in just in time to hear that one. Last but not least, Solarstone totally kicked ass. Let's hope we get to see more of him in the future. Always great to see the TA's. You guys definitely know how to make my day. See you guys in future events. |

Thanks a lot for that, man!  It's fun to hang out with other TAs while waiting, but by that time djskyhigh was already well into her set (past Waveforce), and we were missing out on the action inside :(
