Spreading the gospel of trance is a hard sell.
Usually I'll use House as a 'Gateway drug', so to speak.. It's closer to mainstream..
..Then I'll introduce them to Progressive..
..Then to Tech. Mwa ha ha ha.
*ahem*
So yeah. |

Representing London!!!!
...well, at this point it's probably only for the rest of the summer, then back up to the 905. But I gave up trying to convert anyone here. The closest I got was turning two women onto The Crystal Method and finding one house/trance fan (who ended up losing interest).
But it's nice to know I'm not the only one here :D |

Agreed, London lacks a scene.
But we don't lack is talent, and I'm confident there's a niche market here. |
Just to add, I agree with what everyone has said about EVERY bar here and the scene. It's like I tell everyone when I say I'm from London and they get all excited.
"If you didn't grow up in London, it's fun and exciting. If you did....it's lame as hell"
But I would fully support anyone's attempt to get a scene here! I think it's well overdue!!! |

See that's the problem; it's not 'overdue'. It WAS here but now it's gone. |

Not true, I think you have the idea.
I'm no savante here, but I can't rememeber a time when EDM flourished. Sure, the days of John Acquaviva and Lush are gone, but that could hardly be thought of as a peak of any sort.
Think about it..
We have talent like Jaxx & TWN.
We have talent like Greg Benz and Marco Di Carlo.
We have Labels like Release.
We have Clubs like Phoenix and Colosseum.
Right off the bat, that's far more than lots of other locales have. And they're still trying. |

This is the problem with London. We have people who pump up one another for events and think they're promoting a scene but the second something else comes around they forget where they came from.
Remember the days at Barking Frog, remember the effort and work that was put into that club, remember the people that came out and the talk that it generated. Remember that when you 'forget' to mention the people that brought you to TA, the people who showed you EDM, and the people who showed you what music was.
Good to see how faithful our own 'Londoners' are to one another. But what am I saying, I'm a guy who can't stand his hometown and the pathetic party scene that it has generated. Who am I to critisize who talks about who.
If you're in London, party with who you like and what you enjoy. But remember the people fighting in the background for what is right and what could have been. Remember those people as you stay in London watching as everyone else leaves.

*pleads the fifth and won't respond*.
This seems to be resolved, so we're not going to light this one up again. :clown: |

Someone told me today that Chus & Ceballos are playing in London on Saturday July 23.
If this is the case, time I pay London and the old UWO a visit! |
