I'm simply calling it as I see it. Or shall this thread devolve into another of those debates about how there's no room for negative criticism, only mind-numbing praise for substandard epic slop?

I haven't yet formulated a list of my own because there's so much more to sort through than the styles thus far posted.

perasma - swing to harmony (g&d remix)

What an awful lot of boring tracks.

Qualifies as any kind of worthwhile criticism...

I agree with you Cobalt. Back up your praising of tracks with some valuable arguments instead of just typing '10/10', '+1' or the just as intelligent 'omg ch00n'. That should make this board far more interesting. Either that or quit whining whenever somebody just says a track sucks.

And to add my two tracks of the year this far:

Female - Serverlan A1
Very well composed offbeat techno track, no overabundance of instruments but the track isn't too minimal because of that, it's just the way I like it. The atmosphere it radiates is dark, spooky and makes for a killer track to be used in both harder and more minimal techno sets.

Deetron - What if (tomorrow never comes)
Was just recently introduced to this track, and I was fairly surprised to say the least. I am not at all into Deetron's productions normally (bland, straightforward funky techno rubbish just doesn't do it for me) but this one is different. Containing Detroitish track with well thought out melody lines, this one makes for a perfect listening track for home environments.

Can't think of any other tracks that have really impressed me so far at the moment, maybe I'll add more later.

Save your critisism about tracks for the threads about the tracks. What your doing here is critisizing people's top tunes. Jesus, I guess I should just expect it. But c'mon, it's useless, except for said trolling.

I haven't come up with mine yet. I will probably wait for the upcoming official vote. But I think I know my no.1 so far this year is...

Kosmas Epsilon - Innocent Thoughts

I've seen a few others who think it's their fav. It could be the sleeper hit of the year! :)

Oh yeah, I gotta write a paragraph describing the logic behind my opinion.

THAT! all just say..

10/10!
