Cant wait to see what grabage youre gonna post as your Top 5... then again youre too good for this thread so you should have a new top 5 thread JUST for you so everyone can learn to like the tracks you like.

these 2 have stood out for me this year from all the rest...ironically they are the 2 opening songs of ISOS4..

Esteura vs Re:locate // Palma Solane
Solarstone // Waterfall
RebeL9
not many tunes that impressed me so far this year but these are nice

Human Blue - Evolution
Alex M.O.R.P.H. - New Harvest (Human Blue remix)
Son Kite - Catch
Oliver Lieb vs Preach - Papel (Preach remix)
Antix - Hiding Place
Ian^
Paragliders - Fisheye

Alex M.O.R.P.H - New Harvest (Human Blue Remix)

Martin Roth's Hands on Keane - This is the last time - clear the vocals and press it already!

Secret Cinema - See Myself (Joris Voorn Remix)

Alexander Kowalski & Joris Voorn - She's worth it

bit of a range there, could do more but since it's meant to be 5 i won't be awkward like some do
:p

(and wholeheartedly agree with cobalt - you cant speak your mind these days without being called a troll, its ridiculous)
DJ Balti
Buy Now - For Sale
Fischerspooner - Just Let Go (Thin White Duke Remix)
Tony Senghore - Peace - (Sebastien Ingrosso Remix)
Chab - Closer To Me
Tim Track - Panic Voice

I agree with you Cobalt. Back up your praising of tracks with some valuable arguments instead of just typing '10/10', '+1' or the just as intelligent 'omg ch00n'. That should make this board far more interesting. Either that or quit whining whenever somebody just says a track sucks.

agreed... although some would probably consider mine to be 'substandard epic slop' too haha.. but alas. it's what i enjoy :) (when done well)

1. matti kotola - aedena

amazingly produced and composed, with loads of melodies which all come together brilliantly... many may call it overblown/cheesy but for me it pushes the elevated euphoric feeling to the maximum without quite crossing the line... saved me from getting a paranoia trip when i heard it played in a club once. nothing uberly original about it, just really makes me smile

2. koris vs djule - sense of time (alex morph & sirrocco remix)

another uplifting trance piece which builds for ages without giving away any hint of the melody.. then out of nowhere comes an absolutely spinetingling break featuring a gorgeous female vocal sound & plucked melody (similar to seven cities) that gives me goosebumps every time.. uplifting trance like they used to make it

3. pulser - cloudwalking 2005

saw an armin 9hr set back in february and he just seemed to play loads of boring emotionless trance for over half the night which i just didn't feel anything for, was only really the techy stuff i enjoyed... with the exception of this. i liked the original but imo this really elevates it, full of energy right from the word go and turns the simple riff into something really incredible

4. estuera vs relocate - palma solane

probably the most 'middle of the road' track out of my top 5 but it just has this lovely warm balearic feeling to it, with the percussion & guitar sounds backed by the soft emotive chords... not forgetting the awesome intro too

5. m.i.k.e - massive motion

i've only ever listened to one episode of asot i promise :p hehe... not normally a fan of mike's stuff at all, but jon o'bir playing it at godskitchen back in april was one of the most memorable clubbing moments i've ever had... didn't even know what the tune was, was right infront the podium by the smoke machine and it went off right as the tune climaxed, i'd just come up and could barely see anything around me except the smoke & coloured lights shining through it. really felt out of this world

i don't think that list is really representative of what i've been into so far this year though... have been more into techtrance like sander van doorn, e-craig, jochen miller etc.. just i find that epic trance, when done WELL, stands out the most

My top 5 tunes of 2005 (so far):

Jonas Steur - Silent Waves
Andy Moor vs. Above & Beyond - Air for Life
Peter Martin presents Anthanasia - Simply Blue
Matthew Dekay - Digifruitella
Whiteroom - Someday

These probably all rank among my favorite tunes of 2005, there is still yet alot more music to be released this year...all the BIG stuff is just getting ready to come out for Ibiza season, so it will be interesting to see what else 2005 has in store for us.
