I don't see the problem with this, if the mixes are different enough we should definately give each it's own separate chance.

Honestly I could give a about this poll. It doesn't affect me. But I do like to see artists get rightful praise and support. I am not one to shun artists or songs for being popular. On the contrary, I like it when they are popular and become successful. I like to see success in anything, even if I may not like the particular track, if I think it came from a geniune place, I will give it respect for reaching the amount of people that it did. And this takes me to why I think differentiating the mixes is important. If one of the particular mixes is the more popular of the song. It stands out from the rest, the artist who did the remix should be given credit. Not just the the original artist, but the remixer. I see the remixer as the true artist of the song. Just because he did a rework of a song already in existence does not make his work less respectful. Because, really everything is a rework of something else. Everything has been done before a million differen't ways and what we appreciate is how a certain individual has made it his own.

both myself and swamper have approved this. this thread will be stuck and u can commence nominations. multiply remixes will go down as one track.

enjoy.

i understand ur point dont get me wrong, but we have limited placws available for tracks and it would be abit silly if we lost 3 places to the same track just a different remix, even if the remixes sound totally different - we have to draw the line somewhere.

imagine a final with 10 tracks and 4 were the same track, just a different remix.

i understand ur point and if we doubled the size of this opperation (which believe me the work involved in this already is insane) we could seperate remixes, but unfortunately we have to draw the line somewhere.

ok then, i can imagin the work involved here. I don't see it actually happening where many mixes of the same track make it to the final vote. But if the extra work doesnt warrant it then I have no problem. good luck with the endeavor and thanks. :)

would be great if results (each top10) are kept secret before the end of the first nomination (to avoid overhyped tracks for example)

Ah, and another reason for In Silence not winning that particular poll, that vote was started already in 2005 (i don't remember perfectly but i believe the TOTY vote started before), and kept going for a couple months, it seems natural that people would have gotten already tired of it as it seems it was a bit overplayed.
