I just bought some Shure M44G carts to replace my Stanton 500IIs. I will let you know how they go ;)

I prefer the Sound pickup and bigg bass from the Shure M447's
It is hard to play with anything else now that i am used to the acoustics in my play area...
I guess it changes from needle to needle..
We just got whitelable needles (Not the nice ones, the ones with the blue fangs) for the M447 carts and it sounds horrible, is it meant to?, very clear but no balls! |

Arent the M447s scratch needles?
While I'm aware that Dj needles are completely seperate to audiophile needles (in aiming for exact sound reproduction), it sounds like you are complaining about the music being more accurately reproduced?
Edit: I imagine being on the M447 cart wouldn't be great for the overall quality either. |

According to the Shure website, M44-7s are "Engineered for scratch DJ's and turntablists...the M44-7 is designed not to skip under even the most demanding circumstances."
M44G Carts are a club/mix cartridge and they have better sound quality. |

I know its not quite what i should be doing but i find it easier to mix with the shure M44.7's i guess its what i began with which is why i feel more comfortable.
