- The first half of his story starts out before he cleared the bar; therefore, there would have been many witness.
- The fact that he didn't ask for badges right off the bat means nothing whatsoever. How can you POSSIBLY infer that he knew they were coming? Moreover, he stated later that this was a routine during the Pride event, so even if he did "know" they were coming, it would not necessarily have been because of anything he specifically did.

number 1` never called it bull. i just said alot of stories are 95% bull. 5% being fact the other 95 being an exxageration of that 5%.
and number 2 not asking for badges right off the bat is something huge for me. I dunno the guy personally. Hellhe could be a total push over but im willing to bet he isnt a total one. so my point being if 3 large men came into ur joint and said close this mother****** down now, would u not first ask who the are you? if they said cops then say can i see some id. and then when they show it do as they say? that seems pretty logical in my eyes.
the fact he never asked for badges means he saw this coming. he was prepared for this.
but this is only one of the many loopholes in his story. im not saying it wasnt true. im not saying it was a bull story but i just feel hes leaving out some vital information as to why he got his ass kicked.
its very easy to pull the race card when ur a minority.
and trust me ive had my fair run ins with the cops and have been beaten once too for saving a friend from getting hit by a firetruck. and i know they use extreme measures sometimes when theres no need for it. but i do know none of my indian firneds or friends of any other race have ever been pulled over on the side of the street and beaten because they were of a certain ethnicity. and trust me i have alot of friends whohave alot of run ins with the po. |

hey guess what. im gonna star using therace card as well were i feel fit.
last night i couldnt get a tiocket to tiesto cause im a wop :(
and when i got kicked out of college that was cause i was a wop too.
tellu the truth every bad thing that ever happened to me was cause of my ethnicity.

I was stunned when I got this email - that this still happens in our country, in our city, and to someone I know!
I hope this gets media attention. I am just shocked at the whole 911 business especially. |

| the race card i didnt agree with. I addressed that in my reply to him. Ive seen cops needlessly harrass white people too. Making fun of accents is wrong but i beleive this was probably incidental as opposed to the cause. |

Oh right, you say that now but somehow I think that if six, not three, 300-pound dudes busted into your bar and confronted you, you'd be too busy creaming your pants to ask for badges. Especially if you were 5'6. Would it even matter if they were cops?
Wake up dude, 99% of the time when a person asks for a cop's badge, it's so they can get the name of that cop to file a complaint. Cops know this. Hence my previous post that you never, ever ask that question unless you know you're already in for a rough night.
But go ahead and do things your way when you have to deal with the cops, Eric - I'll come visit you in the holding cell after they tear you a new .
Oh, and you didn't say "a lot" of stories are bull, you said "100% of stories are 95% bull". I'm sure you were exaggerating, but still, this guy would be taking a pretty huge ing risk making up a story like that and going public with it if it wasn't largely true. |

| once again tho im not saying its an untrue story. im just saying theres missing facts and probably some exaggerations of truth in order to make him look like a complete victiom of racism |

| Holy crap. I would like to say that I can't believe like this happens, but nothing surprises me out of Toronto anymore. This place is just getting worse and worse, no matter who's to blame. First off, I don't doubt the story, and this guy should be flooding the internet, getting as much exposure as he possibly can. He has the forensic photographs to show (I'd go request those were I him). Second, there are SOME discrepancies with that story. Not doubting it, but it would be a good thing to find out the truth. Somehow I doubt it'll happen though. |

There actually was a write-up in Xtra (though I don't know if my friend wrote it because I missed it).
for what it's worth, they were over capacity prior to being shut down.
and Babylon remains closed to this day, long after the suspension expired...? |

doesnt mean they had to resort to those tactics. Just as was the case in utah. |

all I'm saying is don't judge it just on his word...he may have no reason to lie, but he may also have plenty of reasons to withold the complete truth.
my friend *personally* witnessed the mother/wife (not sure which) freak out on a cop out front one day...they had a car parked illegally out front, he was asking her to either move it or pay the meter, whatever, or he'd have to ticket the car, just like everyone else. She flipped out, *screaming* at him...so he said something like 'fine, I was trying to be nice, now I'm writing you a ticket'.
some people have serious issues with police/authority...not saying that's the case here...but there are two sides to every story.
I'd love to know what really happened...and I'd *really* love to know why they remain closed...??? |

There has been extensive discussion about this incident on other boards, with a lot of debate about what parts are true and what parts have been exagerrated or left out.
Interestingly though, despite all the "whoa is me" commentary throughout the initial email, Babylon is set to reopen. It would appear that "your canada" may be good enough to do business in after all. |
