Ableton Live is the music-production solution that allows you to spontaneously compose, record, remix, improvise and edit your musical ideas. Live brings your acoustic, electronic and virtual instruments, as well as your digital audio recordings, together in a single interface with unparalleled ease of use. In the end, Live lets you focus on what really matters: your music.

I have played around with a lot of mixing software and once you get started with it you can't stop.. I have yet to get my hands on this, it looks pretty good.. comments?

Sorry, but Im sticking to the conventional stuff.

It just doesnt feel the same as actually touching the tracks. Plus, Im a very simple person and all of that looks way to complicated for moi.

I know it deff gets complicated, youre not alone.. And yes, i will agree with your comment about the convential stuff, i enjoy hands on mixing a lot better as well.. it just has a better feel almost like a symbiotic relationship (ok that was a lil deep lol) I was just mearly pointing out how technology has changed, and even though its a lil hard getting used to, its still kinda cool :p

Its definitely cool, and Im definite gonna have to get my hands dirty when I start to get into producing, but Im still gonna try to keep it as hands on as possible. A couple synths, a bunch of rack f/x, etc... the only thing that I could see using the programs for is the actual beat and some sounds like clashes and symbols and small stuff like that.

Hey guys,
Yes, ableton live is def the way to go if ur looking to spice up ur dj sets. However its capabilities extend way more beyond just a simple dj tool. It can be used as a stand-alone sequencer as well. Once I'm able to start djing, I plan on using as much software as possible in my sets, and live will def be something I use alot.

Linx be careful of d/ling warez esp. these types. I've known ppl to d/l reason w/ trojan viruses in the executable. I'm pretty sure live is ok but just make sure.

Armin uses Abelton for his A State of Trance shows. You were wondering how he mixed 60+ tracks in 2 hrs for the ASOT yearmix. Now u know.
