Ya that was weird. I only laugh if the person is actually hit by the car. |

Yeah but not as ed up as a 22-year old guy high on coke punching out a 16-year old because he talked to him. |

| i probably wouldnt have hit those kids.. confronting them would have done nothing though.. it seemed like they wanted to start .. its a 50 50 call on this one.. it would have taken more guts to confront the kids though instead of knock them and run.. especially on cocaine.. you should have been up for that challenge bse :p |

For those that disagree with the action B.S.E. took, what should be done in situations like that? For me, it is a tough call. Physicality is not something that should be taken lightly, from its negative effects on the aggressor and the victim to its benefits in correcting behavior.
Were we to live in villages where all the children are known and you could speak with their parents, I’d say that’s the best route to take. But these days, you’ll probably never see people like that again, so do you compress what used to be months of reprimand and punishment into a swift crack to the chin, or do you allow their behavior to continue unchecked?
At what point along the scale of aggression is it wrong to not retaliate? Admittedly, these kids did nothing more than yell a few words and injure B.S.E.’s pride a bit.
I probably would have confronted them verbally to let them know there are bigger dogs, and there are guys that will hurt you badly for saying stuff like that. If one of them acted up, they’d get a bitch-slap across the face. Humiliation can often be more effective than pain.
I’m not condoning getting coked up and beating the out of little kids, I’m saying there’s a possibility that those kids learned a valuable lesson in 1/1000th the time “Peer Mediation” or “Parental Intervention” would have taken.
“Spare the rod, spoil the child” could not be more applicable to Generation X and Y, unfortunately. |
:D that's what i'm saying. i think a lot of "punks" these days dont get the right parenting and don't learn respect or being polite and so like u said...they might mouth off to someone even more prickish than b.s.e. (possible? lol) and that guy might not be so nice as to just pop him in the nose and call him a punk...
big deal...if my son came home with a bloody nose and told me that he laughed at a guy who fell off his bike and almost got ran over, i would be like, "oh well good, now i don't have to punish u, i guess u learned ur lesson u brat"

i dont think so. I've never heard of a high school with 5 years.. unless u count 8th grade as high school.
8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th.. maybe but in those cases, 8th grade is intermediate school isn't it? |
