| I had one last year, but this year I'm not living in a dorm so it won't be the same. My setup took up the entire length of the desk they gave us, so I used my laptop on the keyboard tray and used my bed as a desk if I had to do handwritten work. It's not as bad as it sounds if you want to have your setup with you. Just remember, you have to lock your door everytime you leave because of the value of what you have in there. |

This fall it looks like i'll be attending a out of state school. No more community college. I'm really worried b/c here's what i wanna bring:
3x 1200s, one of them is the limited gold edition
Rane Empath
Alesis Ineko
Axis9
inspiron8200 w/ ssl
pair of studio monitors
around 200 records (half of my collection)
Also my pc stuff:
my overclocked pc in a lian-li case
a 20" widescreen LCD
Logitech 5.1c speakers
modded xbox
I'm totally freaked out about who I'll get as a roommate, and if i'll have enough room for all of this stuff. |

| I live in a frat and the desks we got are kinda small, so my setup is ridiculously cramped. I gotta place my stuff in the right spots like I'm playing tetris or something. One of my Technics is behind my laptop and it's a pain in the ass...but you do what you gotta do. |

Yeah, just ask if they're cool with it before you bring it in, that way, if they say no, you won't have a problem having tons of gear with no place to put it. I usually practiced in my headphones if they were there just so it wouldn't be an annoyance if they were trying to study or anything. Also, you will get asked by every single one of their friends, and most of yours who haven't seen the setup before, if you can scratch for them. :D |

I'm Still debating if i should take my gear (denon x1500, Technics M5gs, HDJ1000, creative 4.1 inspire sound system) to my uni rez apartment. Since i can't study in my room anyways, i won't need the desk but how do you guys contain the high sound volumes!!?!
Any useful ideas or tips are most welcome... :D |

with all the money you lot have spent on DJ equipment i'd like to think you are making it back by getting gigs!
why dont u whack in with a few of your buddies and get ur own place somewhere off campus. this way u have privacy, more space for equipment, and you'll not have to worry abt upsetting any1 with loud music. |

| believe me, i would rather not live in a dorm but the school i will attend is very anal and i'm required to live on campus for the first year. Also i do own Serato scratch live, but there's alot of records i haven't converted to mp3 yet (still mp3 isn't as pimp as vinyl). And from the looks of it, i won't have any time soon. |
