So... Seth...

I don't suppose your promotional company would feel like being nice and giving me a refund. I'm already bummed enough that I didn't get to see some great DJs. :(

well....WOOOHOOO

what a flippin sweet night.

first off - got to talk to some of the people in charge of the club which was quite cool - then got to see seth's friend adam and got to hang out with him. seth and mack tore it up. great guys playing some of the coolest sounding stuff that's just great to dance to. liquid todd was quite the comic relief. i was really excited when he dropped the WOW Dustbiter's Mix of Don't Forget me - then i just stood in awe when he dropped "It Just Won't Do." A song i typical laugh when singing along to...

hernan was excellent. quality mixing with quality tunes - usually not a style i tend to listen to that much - but i was surely dancing. oakenfold did exactly what i expected - great tracks with piss poor mixing. highlight was by far hearing the greece 2000 mix.

overall i was just shocked to see the turnout - especially for a monday night. minus the fact of some outlandish behavior of some individuals, the venue was great for this sort of event. events like last night make me hopeful for the days to come.

Great Night in Indy!! I really was amazed to see how many people here in Indy are in EDM besides me and JenniferRene & Jordan. We need to have more events like this one to keep the beat alive! :thepirate

Special thanks to my fellow trancehead Trey for venturing out into the rain with me that night to find me a hair tie in my car. We looked like we had just got done taking a shower in our clothes when we got back inside!!! But hey I told ya we’d dry off!!!

Yeah I agree. It did create a pretty neat atmosphere though. But we will definatley make the DJ more visible this time around and in the future events @ Talbott

I'll see what we can do. We aren't the investors of the event, but the on-site promoters. We got a small cut of the small profit (considering the time and effort involved) on the event overall. I will try to get something worked out for you though...sorry about the misprint :/ It did say 21+ on groovetickets.com the whole time though. But still a misprint on the promoters part (which is partially my fault). Since you will be 21 soon I could comp you into the next 1 or 2 of our events that you can get into. when do you turn?

Overall all, it was a pretty good night. The place was packed which was great to see. I did have about 5000 sweaty topless guys rub against me as they shoved their way through the crowd, but what ya gonna do. This was the first time I had been to Talbot St. and I guess I was a little dissappointed. The way it is set up you can't stand anywhere on the dance floor for more than 2 minutes without some one trying to push through you to get to the front or back. As far as the music goes, I really didn't like Liquid Todd all that much, so we went into the second room for most of his set. It was much cooler and less packed in there, and I enjoyed some of the local talent until they started to play DnB, which is not my cup of tea. When we went back into the main room Hernan was just coming on and he tore the room off. He alone was worth the price of admission. His transitions were so good that I could barely tell when he moved from one song to the next (I was a tad drunk as well). I definelty agree with everyone about the lighting on the DJ. I couldn't tell when Hernan left the stage and Oakey came on until Reign played because I figured Hernan wouldn't play that. Then once I heard the transition into the next song I knew there was no way Hernan was playing anymore. All I ever saw of Hernan was his curly hair, and I never saw Oakenfold. As far as Oakey's set goes, I was pretty dissappointed. I saw him several years ago and he just seems to get worse as time goes by. I didn't expect flawless mixing or anything, but I really didn't enjoy the track selection either. It was nice to hear Trafic on a large system and the remix of Greece 2000 was nice, but other than that Oakenfold was not very memorable. We spent most of Oakey's set chilling in the VIP, which was worth the money just to have a place to sit and restrooms without a line a mile long.

Seth, what happened to the DJs being in the VIP and the special guest with the initials DG????
djSethNichols
well Donald Glaude got caught up and couldn't make it.

I thought some of the talent would hang out up there but they ended up staying in the dressing room most of the time between sets. sorry.

the VIP was worth it though just being able to escape the cramped main floor.
Trey
You're welcome!
My wet shirt was dry again in about 10 minutes of walking in!!

The only dj I really wanted to talk to was Hernan, and I got to do that when I got his autograph so I was happy. It would have been cool to meet Donald, but just having a place to escape was worth the extra money.

Only thing they should change is giving the VIP's one or two drink tickets for the extra price since you're paying a whole lot just to be able to sit down at this point.
djSethNichols
Yeah we'll try and work out a deal like that with the club on the drink tix for VIP. I'll keep you posted.
