does installing a motion detecting gatling gun raise or lower my insurance?

oh. hmmmm. but... dont most people go to auto stores for parts? who just goes to a random person and buys a part? i would definitely think it was stolen.

maybe i should just shut up before i continue to make myself look stupid.

depending on the year of the car, sometimes the parts arent available, or if there were custom parts on there they can be sold for cheaper.

sorry to hear Goodlife about your cars :(

the cars are usually stripped of what is useable, such as the interior and engine. usually end up at a chop shop or garage to do this and it can take a few hours tops, especially if they know the car well.
whatever parts aren't used will probably be trashed. in the aftermarket world, the honda/acura can easily be stolen for the engine, interior, suspension.
its happened to a friend of mine while we were at the mall, we parked the car in the parking garage and when we came out it was gone. we were like WTF? we knew where we parked it. we filed a report and whatnot. It was found a week later on blocks completely stripped.
GoodLife
Thanks guys for all the concern today was an eye opener.

Get this so I check my phone this morning at work. New voicemail. Call the number etc etc, turns out to be Miami Police Dept. telling me they have recovered one of my vehicles. Im like alright where is it? So its in Hialeah they say. The police dept give me all information as to what tow company its at etc etc. The car they found is the Red 95 GSR, the police say its in good condition. Call the tow company they say its in poor conditon on the report. So I take time off from my job to drive to Hialeah during lunch.
All goes well getting there, and I see the car, this fuking thing is stripped, I thought it would be so whatever. But they took everything (front and rear seats, guages, center console, shifter assembly/rods, engine trans, radiator, accessories, both sets of wheels, spare, emblems suspension all exhaust, more or less everything) but one thing catches my eye, they left everything that cant go in a civic in my integra. All interior panels were there haha so you know it is someone with a civic that has stolen the car. The gauge cluster is gone including ecu etc. No door locks were broken, although I am beginning to rule out that it was someone I know because they just knocked the ignition assembly off of the column to start the car. They also took all the wiring, and kill switch wiring etc. They tore up the carpet looking for the kill switch initially.
So you guys think I was having a hard week until the drive home, I was on my way back to work and all of a sudden I get a flat on the right front of the car I am borrowing. FUKKKKKK dammit what the hell is going on this week. So now Im out a couple hundred in tires cause it needs two, the tire that blew was discontinued. I am going to be without that car real soon, and I dont want to spend the money to get a rental.

PS to anyone who is keeping an "eye" out here in Miami look for a civic somewhat riced out, body kit etc. With either black slipstreams or gsr stock wheels because they left some ricey ass cheap wheels on the car and put some stock, I mean brand new OEM rear struts/springs on the car to move it around. The car was found in front of a residence in Hialeah.

Gsr was recovered approx 20-30 miles from my home, completely stripped, all parts destined for a civic.
Car was recovered tuesday night, and I just get a call today. WTFF!!!!!!!

One car was a 1995 GSR, and one was a 1998 Integra Type R CW.
I just got the type R it is my second one the first I sold.
What a day.

wow. you know a lot about cars. i didnt even understand that post.
but i feel bad for you!

Damn buddy that totally bites...

They stripped the GSR quickly, i'm sure all the parts are destined for a civic somewhere. Can't beleive they went as far as the springs/struts! did they leave the disc brakes? thats just wrong. They knew exactly what they were looking for, those bastards!

Type R in champion white :( such a nice car, that had to hurt. You will probably find less in that car if it is ever recovered. I feel your pain man, the same thing has been happening up here for a while. No matter how good your alarm is, they can still get it. Just need a tow truck. Take it to a super secluded garage and gut it.

Any pics of the cars? Especially the type r? had any mods on it?

Hope your insurance is going to be taking care of this for you :nervous:

*its always a chain reaction when something bad happens. Just keep your head up ;)

i hope karma takes care of those bastards! :whip:
