Lets go back to the "good old days" of the early 90's before our music even got branded as "trance"...
names like:

i agree trance is in dead dead dead.
i havent come across a decent trance set in a while,
i recently downloaded an above and beyond set and to my surprise it was a in sleeping pill.
miss those classic high synth tracks.
i say techno is where all the fun is these days. insanity lies in tech :toothless
i dont know why people worship dj's like armin and tiesto coz i dont even call what they play proper trance anymore. |

I wish I could go to some sort of an event where they blasted the old stuff, all the way from say 98 till about 2002. Those were the days! :)
I think 2000 was THE year for me, too many good memories! :D |
I am trying very hard to grant your wish! Too bad I lost my first venue:( No worries, I'll work it out somehow.
This Sat I heard a really good trance set at the last Hulla. Cafe del mar, Children, Saltwater (mmmm chicane) etc.
I really want to get ahold of some of the REALLY early trance on vinyl...may have to settle for the digital versions though. |

Please tell me you haven't heard AVB's Universal Religion 2 set (2004)...because there are classic high synth tracks and this set is what caused me to start worshipping him...
EDIT:
Okay, I just realized I used the word "classic" I didn't mean old songs, but I meant that "classic" PVD synth style...(I don't know much more about PVD than the mainstream tracks so excuse my ignorance) |

Wow, I would have loved to hear that set, Saltwater, haven't heard that track in so long, but I remember every time I listened to it, it gave me chills! |

trancechaos: maybe your sleeping then.
Ferry still plays those epic sounds every gig he plays. Please do not be such a ignorant . Tiesto i still think is very epic but he is horribly inconsistent. When he wants to be on fire he is and when he sucks he sucks bad.
There are tons and tons of new people getting into the scene who have no idea about the earier years. Some even prefer it to the old 99/2000 sound, people have different tastes you know.
And since you worship paul van dyk so much you must hate what he is playing now. Because 75% of his current sounds EXACTLY like armin. He plays the same mcprog trance armin does he just has more variation in his sets.
Deal with it, this is the way trance sounds right now. |

i've definately moved on a lot since then, becuase nowadays i listen to trance, techno, house, prog and sometimes a few others EDM genres and back then it was only trance. but it just braught back a lot of good memories and back then everyone was into trance where now some ppl look down upon it. for me 2001 was definately THE year! |
IMO Trance died after 2002, now adays trance ain't trance ... A&B is the only ones doing it proppa. |
