i agree with you there, but you try to appeal to a generation with poor literary skills and little imagination. the stuff i used to read when i was in school (eddings was good) s all over harry potter. take it easy, look at them as light entertainment, pocket books while on the train or somethin |

Who are you to say what magic is or isnt meant to be? I think your problem is you believe this fantasy is reality and end up taking it too seriously. All it is, is an interesting story about a child wizard. |

its an opinion, simpleton. i didnt say it was law ;) but damn right i take fantasy seriously. popular culture is important. um yeah, i really think i live in a galaxy far far away :rolleyes:
thats the sort of analysis id expect from someone who could enjoy the childish and intellectually insulting trash that is the harry potter series :p |

fantasy is just that, fantasy. the author can make magic whatever he/she wants it to be. if that is riding on broomsticks and waving wands then thats what it is. u cant have a sterotype "magic". harry potter doesnt fit your mold of what fantasy should be, wow get over it. they are books for kids (generally) and alot of kids are reading them so they cant be that bad.

you are completely correct, and she can make the magic in potter's world anything she likes. and she makes magic . and i hate it, am proud of my hatred for it, and like to tell others about that hatred :D
