Thats why I said it's sad...cause the US is still better...thats just how bad china is. Dude this is what my dad does for a living deals with china's destruction of the enviroment. It's retarded what they're doing and its not going to keep going for long people cant live in a world like that. |

ok here goes a couple of n00bs talking about geopolitical issues...
US debt is owned *mostly* by Japanese and German banks.
Even tho Chinese army got massive upgrades, it still does not touch or comes even close to the US supremacy in the military field... and we're not only talking about the superiority of US armements, we're talking about US superiority with its warefare/field intelligence... thats why China doesn't dare attack Taiwan (which is an island by the way, no island has ever been taken by force).
Finally, its true China produces lots of stuff bought exported to the US, but these are gadgets and gimmicks that the US could well produce by itself... but uses Chinese cheap labor to do it for them (most of the investment in China is american anyways...) China wouldn't want to loose those billions invested in its economy every year.
Example Nike invest in China to produce Nike shoes, they cost 1$, they're sold for 50$ to retailers in the US, who makes most of the profits?? Nike or the chinese people? Nike of course followed closely by the retailer who sells it for over 100$. |

Falklands by the british?
And I think the Chinese could manage it, just shear population wise taiwan has 20 something million people and China has 1.3 billion. I know not all those people are in the army, but it's safe to say the chinese could call in AT LEAST 300 million people into the Army if they had to, and I think that would take care of Taiwan...
But ya, the USA is too advanced. Last year the USA spent close to a trillion dollars on the military and china only spent 20 billion or something, those figures arent dead accurate but the margine was huge.
And ya Malek is right in that, China although its becomnig economically powerful, they'd waste so much cash fighting against Taiwain that they'd send themselves into troubled waters with money and would end up having to spend many more years building up again... China still has so much poverty, everyone forgets about that, they simply just cant afford to go to war with Taiwain cause A) they MIGHT lose and B) Even if they win it would take tonnes of money and tonnes of soldiers, resources etc. |

falkland...................................... gimme a break, very few people live there, not enough to defend themselves... (think about japan, british island, cuba, ...)
I hope you know that sheer manpower has no meaning whatsoever these days, 300 millions not equipped, not trained are well worth nothing.
look at Irak with its above 1M soldiers on their own turf against the allied army, or the hundreds of million of arabs surrounding tiny Israel. Or if you go back in time, how Hannibal, Alexander the Great, etc conquered vast lands and won over huge armies because of their superior quality, not quantity. |
