I'm getting a little heated up on this... :wtf:
Let's try this:
-Steve Lawler live mixes & compilations circa 2000-2004, whatever music it may be = I Love
-Steve Lawler circa 2005, whatever "style" it may be = No like
I'm not an expert on classifying EDM styles... but I have to describe the music I like and don't like somehow the best I can. So whatever was on the his last EM mix sounded like poop. Whatever was on his EM's from 2003 and back, sounded sickly ickly!
If I'm sitting there and it feels like I'm dancing in the Amazon Jungle playing on the drums with my animal bones, then you're gonna wipe my ass on the dance floor. Otherwise... I'm gonna look elsewhere for my tunes if the whole mix is that "other" style. He always had that "other" sound but he just balanced it with the progressive, tribal, etc or whatever styles...
All in all though, I'm still a big supporter of the guy but I don't like to jock anyone, I try to give as much of unbiased opinion as I can. |

he can say whatever he wants and call what he spins whatever he wants, but it's still electro influenced house...
a lot of dj's spin similar to his style and they probably never even heard of a genre called tinka house or even the word tinka...
thats just bull! |

| I just figured out you have to play this as LOUD as POSSIBLE top get the full effect. Saw Lawler last night here at Avalon, and he toor it down...alot of sick tracks off the CD but not the obvious ones (Skeleton Key/Trentemoller etc) |

| Listening to this makes me realize that I just don't like electro!! It could be country music for all I care because it just isn't my thing. This very well could be where a lot of EDM is going but I guess I won't be liking that future. It can change but that doesn't mean my personal tastes change with it.. |
