after playing arround with the beta for a few minutes... i dont see why it has to be live 5 and not live 4 something. |

Well, you only played with it for a few minutes, so you may not be as well informed as someone who, say, played with it for more than a few minutes :tongue2 ... it is definitely an improvement... the session-side upgrades are great imo. |

can say from the beta that it is really big improvement...especially when yuo're trying to use it for mixsets :) really good :) I tried to use it for a live gig and wasn't dissapointed at all...everything is clean, great and stable :) |

definitely. there are LOADS of extra features, and the update is worth it for the extra plugins themselves. another HUGE bonus is being able to change which part of a certain audio file is playing on the fly - this is a GOD SEND when I'm doing live remixes or working with acapellas. that was a big limitation of Live 4. I've been working with the beta for over a month now and I'm VERY happy with what Live 5 has to offer. the upgrade is definitely a no-brainer. |

How do mp3s work in live 5? are they fast loading and stable? What improvements are their for someone who wants to mix songs with it? |

Mp3s (as well as ogg and flac files) load just like wavs - I saw absolutely no difference in CPU usage between the two (although someone on an archaic machine might not agree). they also implemented auto-warping, which is a nifty idea but in my experience it doesn't work so well. it doesn't matter much because I've become pretty adept at manually warping my music anyway, but the influx of new live users might find it a bit of a deterrent. Stability scores a 9/10 - even on the beta it was great. When working with a high CPU load with a ton of different VSTs while using it as a sequencer it upchucks every now and then, for live performance it's a solid tool. |

Having seen Sasha deliver one of the best sets possible a month ago with Live, I decided I'd take a closer look at it. After playing around with the demo for a few hours I just couldn't help but buy it.
This really is a sweetassed piece of software; can't wait to really explore it further. |
