sander needs to come back to CO!:whip:

Sorry, this is long!

So finally I have some time to do my review after a long week at work. What can I say, it was amazing! Between last weekend seeing Lee and this past weekend seeing Sander, it's been a crazy couple of weekends! The night couldn't have been better - except it went by too fast. I've been waiting to see someone good play at Crobar and who better to see there than Sander! It was a great place to see him, I've always loved it there - the lighting/sound system, etc... are great! Glad everyone was able to get in okay. Thanks to Colin for the guest list. :)

It was great to see so many familiar faces out and to meet new ones as well. Like I expected, a lot of people there didn't know who Sander was but that probably changed for some of them by the end of the night. Sander played an awesome set, and pretty much played all of the tracks I wanted/expected to hear and more. UWM did a good job with remembering a lot of the tracks. I love that he started out with Zoo Brazil, Tonight which is the 1st track of my Fanciulli Mixmag cd. :)

I had another insane weekend with my partners in crime, Ctprincess and UWM. :) I love hanging out with you guys! We always have such a great time together and you guys always know where you can find me too...lol. ;)

Tony (glass) - Great to see you again, so glad you came down! You're so much fun to have around and sorry I probably just missed you at afters. Next time! :)

Chicago29 - Nice to see you again and to meet your friend! I actually remember the conversation a little bit with Dennis about WMC. You were talking about all of us getting together and staying at the Marriott by Nikki Beach...lol! :)

Dennis - Nice to see you again as well and thanks for what you said. :) I'm glad you got to see Sander for the 1st time and now can understand why he's my favorite!!! ;) Although I don't remember you asking me to go on the dance floor if you did...lol! I don't think I even made it down there once! Once Sander came on, I was all about his set. Sorry you guys had to leave early. Nice to see Steve and his friend Sara.

Kid-M - great to see you and thank you so much for having us over for afters.....we'll probably see you this weekend at Zentra. :)

Seneca - nice to see you and meet your girlfriend, Diana. You guys were having about as much fun as I was!!! :) Great night and I got a couple good pictures of you which I'll give you copies of.

Neil - Always a pleasure to see you, glad you made it out! :)

Andy, Aquadyne, Juliet - nice seeing you again but you disappeared almost not too long after we walked in and went upstairs. I hope you all had fun. :)

Lucid and Rob - sorry you guys couldn't make it!!! Next time. By the way, Happy Belated Birthday Rob! :)

The guys from Ann Arbor, glad you guys made it so far to see Sander! Hope you had fun. Sorry, I forgot your names.

The next time Ctprincess, UWM and I might see Sander is at Space in October!!! :) It's sooooo on! And Bobby, don't worry, you've had plenty of practice here in Chicago the last couple of weekends and will do just fine down in Miami with us! :)

I was about to ask sander if he had that with him, but figured he probably doesn't bring that out to the majority of his gigs, only his marathon sets. that would've destroyed crobar - well at least those who were there to see sander :p

i'm really digging this dan sanders remix of earthquake that he played .. madness!

Every time Ive seen Sander at Crobar, at the end of his sets I always request My Lexicon, but he never plays/has it. Next time I see him, I think Im just gonna bring my copy.

Sorry this post took a while but this week has just been killing me.

Sanders set was just phenominal. It was my first time seeing him spin and I really got into it. I could have done without sliding down the steps and spraining my thumb, but hey thats life:gsmile:

I think I also noticed that crowbar had a nob type mixer(meaning no fader bar), I have read a little bit about this type as far as control. I believe this is the first time I have seen it in a club.

Christen, I look forward to posting this in every review of the shows to come. YOU ROCK, Thanks for everything.

Dennis, truely a pleasure hanging out you again man, I was sorry to see that you had to take off early. See you next show.

Andy, thanks for having me over for a beer before the show. See you next show.

Bobby, great to meet you, the expression on you face the end of the night was priceless. Wish I had a camera. See you next time.

Christen(ctprincess) Nice to meet you. Thanks to you, Christen and Bobby, for allowing me to tag along at the end of the night.

James - F@#king great to hanging out with you again, see you next show.

Juliet - great chatting with you at Andy's and glad to see you made it back.

And everyone else I'm for getting due to the cold medicine take cake.:) :tongue3

I suppose I can finally write my real review now that everyone else has :p

First off, gotta say that I was definitely impressed by Crobar. I didn't really know what to expect going in, but the club itself exceeded any expectations I might've had. I loved the open-access DJ booth, and how they had the shelves set up all around the balcony to set your things down so you could dance / converse / etc ... without worrying about holding your drink. Sound was great where I was, and I have to give huge props to whoever put the AC vent right above the right-hand side balcony .. much needed relief! Lighting wasn't all that but I really didn't care much. Flood light / N02 is always fun - the train horn got a bit played out though.

Now as far as the set went, I was obviously very impressed. Shockingly it was my first time seeing Sander and he didn't disappoint. Heard all the tracks that I wanted to hear except for one, and there were plenty of good surprises thrown in. Heard one mix that was noticably off, but all else was spot on. Seemed that Sander was really enjoying his set and was getting into it ... although he lacks some in the rhythm department :p It was definitely entertaining watching him do the robot during Domo Arigato though :D

Now on to the people:

I know I met a lot of you but didn't really engage in much conversation. Maybe that's my fault, but I'm just not much into trying to have lengthy chats at clubs - I'm just there to get stupid and have fun :p So for ... let's see ... Andy, Dennis, Neil, Juliet, JMC, Marvin, etc ... My bad!

Garth & co - impressed that you made the trip from AA. Too bad you couldn't really party hard but the 1/5th of Jager made up for it I'm sure. Know it for next time not to flip through Sander's CDs :stongue:

Seneca - great partying with you again. Good to have someone to spot tracks with and thanks again for the great pics - we'll definitely do it again soon.

Mike - big thanks for having us over late night, it was a ing blast. Good job to the 12 of us who couldn't figure out your mixer :stongue: I promise I'll be making it down to one of your gigs @ Zentra now that I'm back in the wild.

Tony - great meeting you, definitely a character. I forgot about the thumb thing until reading your post .. glad to hear it's not broken :p Too bad you couldn't stay out longer, but it's all good. I'm sure there'll be plenty more opportunities in the future.

Kristin & Christen - my partners in crime. Another ridiculous weekend to say the least. Thanks so much again for the hospitality and letting me 'stay' at your apartment :p It's definitely been a great two weekends hanging out with you two and catching some great shows, and now I'm primed and ready for the fall party season. Life has been so much more fun since I've been hanging out with you two :D

Myra & Rob - too bad you guys couldn't make it, but I made sure to give you the shoutout and include you in the party :p

All in all an awesome night, looking forward to partying with you all in the future :)
