| What about an audio watermark that'll record companies can add to tracks before they send out there promo lists, then if a tune does get released they'll be able to identify who the person was? |

You misunderstood me, I meant its a shame that it doesnt matter so much about tune selection, crowd pleasers etc and instead is all about having the latest , that isnt good imho. |

yes, getting unrealesed stuff sux, it sometimes causes bad subsequences,
tho' about leaking over tunes or how bad that is, look, lots of VERY good stuff, not only trance, aren't realesed in some countries, people can't get'em, even if they're realesed not all people have these fat wallets like most of you do (or it seems so) -> they can't buy it -> they leech it. |

i think i would buy more online stuff if
a) it was released on a website the same day (probably earlier) it arrived in shops.
b) there was an internet site out there listing all releases.
i think we'll see a site like that eventually but right now all the companies are fighting for the users. maybe in a couple of months..
point A would probably mean faster p2p spreading and in better quality (no lame 15 year old trying to eq that vinyl he just ripped for his c001 mp3 group). |

and i think mp3s are cool. i own almost 1000 cds. before i started downloading tunes and finding out stuff i really like i had about 20 cds or so.
but i do agree that leaking unreleased/unsigned tunes is very ing gay indeed. |

oh who gives a . it doesn't make me want to buy something any more or less just because it's leaked.
everything from movies to music gets leaked. did lord of the rings bomb? no, and a dvd screener was out about a month before hand on the net.
i'm so sure that love theme dusk won't sell, i mean it was leaked right so it must hurt the sales something fierce :rolleyes: |

Take the central mp3 downloading site idea...and combine with this:
stop giving out promo's. If u have a promo ready and you want to promote it...put it on the site and charge more for it...lower the price to standards when it hits retail. How many people are gonna say "I payed extra $ for this track so i can leak it...im en l337!". This gives aspiring dj's a fair chance with the "big boys". People who buy music just to listen to it get it at retail and the dj's who wanna fork up extra money for a Promo can get it. There is going to be more creative flow among dj's...more collabs..blah blah blah...if there is more creativity networking...i believe ty productions won't make it.
I always say, if there arent enough talented dj's or producers in the scene, its becuase there arent enough people hearing it. |
