Lost my Sense of Taste
View this Thread in Original format

For the past few days I haven't been able to taste a thing. Cokes taste like ass, sweet food tastes bland and salty.. i can't taste it.

This does give me an advantage at the Sushi bar. I put a mountain of wasabi in my soy sauce they other day. The mixture was orange.. :stongue:

But seriously, I have a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth (they're coming out in a couple weeks). I haven't had a cavity in so long, so could anyone tell me if they lost some taste when they had one? I've read that it's a possibility.

holy ...thats actually pretty cool...try betting cash in a wasabi contest with some asian dude and see if you win.

have you been consuming a lot of light products? diet coke etc. my taste almost goes away completly and stays that way several days if i take too much.

Its probably your tastebuds. Brush your tounge really hard and try to wake them back up.

Also....have you burned your tounge lately...that makes you loose taste.

You should check that you don't have any ear infection or inner ear problems. That can cause dulled taste and smell.

stop snorting so much coke.

Are you serious? That's weird...

If there's really something wrong, I bet it's with your sense of smell, not your taste.

I'm an avid cyclist and I do a lot of bike racing. This April a dumbass stepped in front of my bike after a training ride for a race and I hit him (he was unhurt of course) and I fell, hitting my head on the pavement which fractured my skull and caused some bleeding on my brain. I was in the hospital for a couple weeks, but I've made for the most part a full recovery. The only effect I'm still experiencing is my smell is totally messed up, and my taste along with it. Things taste like complete crap and I really only have one "smell" which is one I think to be worse than crap. I can't tell you how much is sucks for everything to smell and taste like utter .

I hope your problem corrects itself as I'm praying that mine does too.

Good luck, as if there is really a problem with your smell/taste, there's really not a whole heck of a lot you can do about it.
