It surely isn't all about bling bling, pimpin' hoes, 40s, and guns. There is rap music outside of MTV and rap radio, and I suggest you check it out before making blanket statements about hip hop culture.

Hip hop is no different from any other genre of music. You will always have popular artists that don't give a fair representation of the genre and the culture behind the music as a whole. Would it be fair to say all trance sounds like DJ Sammy? Would it be fair to say trance culture is all about homosexuals and e-tards? Which one are you?

Listen to KRS-One, Blackalicious, Jurassic 5, Public Enemy, Nas and A Tribe Called Quest. Those are more "conscious" rappers. And they aren't even that underground so you don't have to dig too deep through the to get to real hip hop. They are more true to the roots of hip hop where emcees rhymed about inner city life, black oppression, and expressing oneself artistically.

Well i agree with you and i disagree with you, Why? Because I think Hip Hop sents a bad message to everyone, what these rappers do in thier daily lifes (not all of them). But in Trance, well you dont see any DJ vs DJ shooting or because some DJ took this other DJ bitch and this mothain DJ shot that mothaa. No u dont see that, Yeah alot of people think that Trance is about X but they dont know anything about it. In rap you have a small amount doing whats the real hip hop culture and the rest dont. i dont know if you understand me, but i tried my best explainging it, bare with me english is my second language hehe. but thats my point

edit: and yeah you have people doin x, but they are just clubbers that dont realy appriciate trance for the music, just for the fun of it.
Shook1
not to butt in.... but the new

Common - BE (LP) is pretty good.....its 2005 hiphop too....LP of the year in my opinion, as far as hiphop is concerned.

Take that w/ a grain of salt though, as I'm not too in-tuned w/ rap/hiphop or ur guys' taste in rap either.

If your exposure to rap/hip hop is limited to MTV/BET/rap radio than you don't know about hip hop culture.
