The rule I was taught was "half your age plus 7." Of course, after the Wellburn Incident (don't ask, I'll only say that it sucked hevonpaska) I made that "half your age plus eight."
Of course, not every guy is unfortunate enough to have such an incident. I'd still be cautious, though.

When you're old enough to be their father :p
Seriously, my father is 10 years older than my mother and there was no such thing as age gap (they started dating when my mother was 18 or 19). I've got an acquaintance who's 26 and his girlfriend is 17 and they've been happy together for quite a few years.
Age only matters if you want to. As for maturity, well, sometimes you don't click with people your own age. |

But there has to be some limit. By that logic, a 4 year old would be hittable. Of course, I'm not attracted to 4 years old :p But just defining it by "who i'm attracted to" is a bit shaky as sometimes we could find something attractive in someone which is morally wrong to bang, or could be hurt psychologically if it happens due to her immaturity. Now, this doesn't mean there should be a mathematical rule without exceptions, these things do have to be maleable depending on the chick's (im)maturity. I'd say age, while not directly related, matters quite a bit.. |

There is: your maturity (and hers). Someone younger than 16 would hardly ever manage to keep a relationship with a much older person, for example, so the relationship would limit itself by its own problems.
Personally, I wouldn't put much trust in a relationship with anyone younger than 15, which is in Brazilian society when a girl has officially become an adult (although the law doesn't quite agree :p). |
