"Trance Producer Ferry Corsten was robbed at gunpoint in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The attack took place after Corsten was driven away from a local radio station.
Corsten was in the back seat of a car when a man on a motorbike approached the vehicle. "The guy sitting on the back seat of the bike started knocking on the window with a gun ordering us to give him our watches, " recalled the Dutch DJ. "Luckily, I saw the gun quick enough and was able to kick my watch underneath the passenger seat."
Seconds later Corsten, who has also made music under the names Gouryella and System F, came directly under attack. "The guy came to the rear of the car and pointed the gun right at my head," said Corsten. "He wanted to lock and load but his gun jammed. But it freaked the hell out of us anyway. He managed to get a few things but we were lucky that we were all okay."
Police were called and statements taken before Corsten played at a local gig later the same evening. He said the attack had not put him off playing in the city again. "Luckily, this event didn's harm us or my appetite for a good night, the club was rammed and the atmosphere was great, so that restored my faith in Sao Paulo again," Ferry said. " (Courtesy of DJMAG)
