Well what can I say, Ricky Gervais is back and bolder than ever.
Incase you didn't know, the pilot episode of his new show 'Extras' aired last thursday. And it was mint. I didn't for an instant think to try and compare it to The Office, because you just cant do that, but this new series looks almost as promising.
Ricky plays the part of Andy Millman, a film extra who's dying to get his big break in the film business. In the first episode, he's playing the part of an extra in some WWII film, and he swans about trying to get the director of the film (Ben Stiller. Yes that's right, he's actually in it :p) to give him at least one line in the film. And so it goes on.
His character's a nice change from David Brent. He's almost the complete opposite: quite confident, knows his stuff, and isn't affraid to tell everyone what he thinks. But you can still see some elements of Brent in there. He has a quality argument with Stiller at the end of the episode.
Anyways, catch it on Thursdays, BBC 2, 9pm.

| I thought this was absolutely shocking. It mustered up a few 'heh's' here and there, but I was well tempted to just turn it off. I will give it another chance though incase it picks up. |

| The very end with Ben Stiller just going "it still counts, it still counts", I didnt find funny at all, but before that I thought it was brilliant |

Grrr, I missed it, but when I read this quote it made me laugh...
"If I shot your mother in the face would I make you laugh?"

Yeah but Ben Stiller can get really annoying anyway. The argument he had with him at the end was hilarious.
Stiller: "Who are you, eh? Nobdy! That's right, nobody. And who am I?..."
Andy: "Either Starsky or Hutch, I can never remember".
Stiller: "Was that supposed to be funny?"
Andy: "You tell me, you were in it."

last nights was good again I think, but Kemp's portayal of himself (athough yes of course its meant to just be a funny send-up), was utterly rediculous, and he over-acted it far too much imo.
"COME ON LOVE, PUT A BIT OF MINGE ROUND IT, YOUR LIKE A DEAD HORSE"
hahahaha
SOOOOOOOOO didnt see that bit coming, I covered me sister's eyes when the scene began, and I had to switch to covering her ears (by which point it was too late and she'd seen and heard it all haha) |

Being the pillock I am, I forgot it was on at 9, and instead turned the telly on at 9:30. I was highly disappointed.
Still, I shall download. :) |
