The best guitarist to grace this planet EVER? Yngwie Malmsteen, of course...

In terms of technique, I don't think anyone will ever top him EVAR!!!
He is the Paganini of nowadays! And I really think he showed us EVERYTHING you can do with an electric guitar. Anyone at least giving a , care to disagree?
Here's a really quick and fast skit from him, from a recent live performance. Even if you don't listen to anything but trance, you should still check it out to give the fastest guitarist on this planet the props.
Yngwie Malmsteen - Blitzkrieg

| Him and Jimi Hendrix' wierd timings and playing it upside down just about covers everything u could do with a guitar. I concur. |

| Well since the two previous posters already mentioned Jimi, I have nothing to add. I must concur, though, that Malmsteen is in a league of his own. |

| yea he is a great guitarist, I would never call him the greatest. I am more impressed by what some blues guitarists do likek stevie ray vaughn and what a bunch o death metal guitarists do. I never realised exactly how intricate a death metal riff can be til I caught up with my bro and his band last christmas. I should find some video of them and upload it. insane fingerwork on every riff. |

| Problem with death metal and that fast nonsense (no offense to the music) is that it's very often not dynamicly correct but just fast. |

I only have my brother's band to go off of since I've seen the sheet music for it and it is most certainly dynamically correct (what does dynamically correct mean anyways? lol ). You'd be surprised how much music theory some of them konw and use. |

I'm honestly not all that impressed by Yngwie. Yea, he can blow through arpeggios like no one's business, but when that's all he does it gets old....quick.
I'm a sucker for guys like Steve Vai or John Petrucci. They can play a lot of the things that Yngwie plays but they are infinitely more diverse. |

yeah they got some talent but same thing as playing bass, it's not how fast it's how melodic and complex, not just technical your riffs and notes are. |
