South Florida is not that bad with traffic, most consist of people from all around the country, so thats the reason, u want bad traffic, come to the biggest hole in Florida, TAMPA, Oh my, people over here dont know what they are doing period, and no matter what day it is or what time, there is always traffic, no matter where u go, hole Central

In response To the "butt ugly" comment

I've had many different girls interested in me over time so I guess that doesn't make me "butt ugly" :toothless probably not a 9 on women's scale, but not too low either.

@Desteeny, a girl can have snap her fingers and have hordes of guys around her any second. For guys that look for girls, it takes a bit "longer", shall we say. Surely you understand that?

The reason I posted the topic was to see if it was "just me" or other people can also confirm this negative vibe in DC. And judging by the replies, many people agree, so I must be on to something.

beema's response was spot-on:

people here are mostly annoying over-politicized yuppie douchebags.

HardTranceProd, hahah!!! Yeah I'm laughing at you, and its because you got self induced problems. All you do is keep bitching and saying like "people agree with me" in the hopes of making yourself feel better about your atitude and situation. HAHAHAHA!

Do something real about your problems and...Get A Life.

but also keep in mind that it was coming from a major cynic whose screen name is a yo-boy misspelling of "bimmer," whose parents are probably NoVa yuppies themselves. :toothless

I totally understand what you were trying to say as I've personally had to deal with quite a few pretentious s in DC. However, there are some really good people out there as well, you just have to find them and get to know them which is hard because they probably already have circles of friends from wherever they came from. Many (or most) of people you meet in DC clubs don't actually live in DC but rather the surrounding area. But that's not to say that everyone is from the surrounding areas, because I've also met many people from all around the US and even the world in DC.

If you ever party at Nation you would understand that it's one huge melting pot - except that most people are there (more or less) to have fun with their friends, and not for the singles scene.

I hate it when I'm in the middle of a conversation with someone (I'm in my late twenties), then when we order a drink in a restaurant, we have to show our IDs. How silly and childish is that (rarely, if ever, happened in NYC or LA to me). People here are sooo scared of alcohol.

Welcome to the East Coast. It sucks, but it's the law so they have to enforce it or they would be shut down. Instead of bitching about it here, you could be doing something more productive like writing your local congressman about an issue of actual importance.

I agree with fr0st on this one. DC traffic BLOWS!!! Avoid rush hour at all costs!

People in DC have always struck me as having the "what can you do for me" attitude, as has been mentioned before. I have tons of acquaintances, but few friends. The people seem to be ex-frat/sorority or eurotrash. When I am a bar I feel like I am in a frat basement or some snobby lounge where not having a table makes me inferior (at least in other ppl's eyes).

It sounds like you're also going to the wrong places. Surely you will have those experiences if you're attempting to immerse yourself in the "see and be seen" crowd, which (IMO) is for the most part a blind, socially engineered, mindless mass that is unable to see though their fog of glamorous greed. (no offense, Greedy)

wtf my parents aren't yuppies
they are hard working blue-collar folks
go shove your head up your ass

The crowd at nation is WEAK. It is full of has-been ravers still desperatley clutching onto the past, and stupid frat boys trying to score. I'd say maybe 10% of the people there are actually worthwile.

I think most of my dislike for DC comes from the fact that I have lived here my entire life and frankly, I'm just getting BORED of the same thing.

Well, to be honest... not everyone goes to clubs to sit there, stare at the dj, and say "hmmm... nice beats!"
