crappy ADs on our TV

I hate all those American ads on TV where they have dubbed Australian voices over the top.

...and I seem to be the only one that notices it.

Whenever I mention this to other people they say they haven't noticed.

The most blatantly obvious problem with this is the fact that you cant just paste any old voice over any person.

The voices in these ADs quite obviously dont match the people.

Secondly, I just think its stupid that they ad Australian voices because they are well aware that the products are NOT Australian and they do it to try and make it look australian.

Some examples of these are:

Sunsilk ADs (you know, the "She's not here today" ad)
Vileda Super Mop (Not on TV anymore)

Cant think of anymore right now...

Am I alone here?

im much more concerned with the ridiculously standard of Oz tv \"dramas\". things like blue heelers & all saints make crap like the CSIs seem good.

wtf you watching ads for anyway? ads are the bit that tell you theres something worth watching on the other channel for 3 mins.

i'll have to check that one out.... what happens in it?

Almost is bad is when they get Australian hosts to introduce and narrate over an American or British show to make it seem Australian. They did this with the eating show on Sunday night.

Another thing, on that World Records show when they 'cross to our American counterparts" and then just insert an old pre-recorded segment.

I just wanted to know if you guys notice it or not. it seems to be a lot of older people (mid 20's upwards) that dont notice... but then again they are the only people that I have asked
