You claim to be "too poor" and don't have the time to invest in shopping for tracks!!!
What the kind of communist bull is this?? That's what it is. Communism. |
did you not read what gemini said? the music he is able to play with software is UNRELEASED. That's another word for STUFF YOUR NOT ABLE TO BUY ON VINYL.

Get a ing job, work your ass off and buy records and play them better than sasha or cockweed or the next superstar as determined by marketing dollars and then maybe you can stand up against them at a gig and push them right back into their holes or force them to up the ante |
HAHAHA. if superstardom is determined by marketing dollars then what good would it do to spin better than them? push them right back into their million dollar mansion holes? i agree that marketing has a lot to do with the popularity of a dj. but that's another subject.
your big misconception, which is reiterated by this:
| quote: | | - by going back to vinyl and re-learning how to mix and to perform for the dollars people somehow are suckered into paying to go see them now only to have them click mice and bop to to bmp counters. |
is that mixing with vinyl takes some kind of extraordinary skill. it doesn't. any yah00 can spend two grand on decks and a mixer and learn to beat-match. that isn't where the art is. the art is in track selection and progression. and THAT is why the mediums are changing. it's to progress the ART of djing. while vinyl is near and dear to my heart, it just isn't as viable a medium as it used to be. it is very expensive for labels to release on vinyl so much good music goes unreleased (there's that word again). plus with the speed of music being produced it's hard for anyone to keep up if they can only use vinyl.
purists such as yourself always have one major flaw in their arguments and that is that they are fundamentally more concerned with the form rather than the art.
edit: lol, i just realized that you probably don't even know about sites like beatport.com. :stongue: |

Lord fubar says it plainly ...
don't think there should be anymore fighting over this subject ... cause it has no sense...
I am 17 years old ... i'm still learning and i really don't have time for a job considering that i have a lot of exames ... i barely have time for this competition ... please don't judge me ... you wouldn't be able to understand me ... or anyone else on this forum/thread ...
It's your opinion and i respect it ...
It's my opinion and you can't do anything else then respect it ... or i will be forced to talk to a moderator and have you removed from this thread (not the forum ... i can't ask that) Please ... there's no reason for these types of insults... i thought that this is a friendly forum ...
please leave it this way |

No that makes you a moron, and makes beatport money.
I had a conversation the other day with a very well informed music industry professional about beatport and trackitdown. the only people who benefit from those services are the services themselves. |

The form gave birth to the ART. Change the form, and the art dies. |

Words words words. I, for one, am eager to see the results from this thread.
Anyone else as KEEN as I am for results?
Anyone else anticipating the wonderful music we'll eventually get to listen to?
I am. I sure enjoy listening to music. Yes sir, you can't beat any kind of music listening. In the car, on the decks, in a plane, underwater, it's all music and it sounds soooooo good!
Man, I can't wait for the results. |

Ok.....As the leader of this thread....I was thinking about how to respond to the hostile attack that we have been under and I have to say that my Patient Advocate Care Training has kicked in... FINALLY LOL! :)
We all just need to remain focused on our goal here and that is to get this contest JUDGED! Many of us have seen the very negative comments posted about "digital DJ's" and I am sure that we all have very heated feelings about the subject but guess what? This forum is NOT THE PLACE FOR IT. There are so many threads on this site for that discussion that it would make you dizzy to do a search. Lord Fubar, we are all VERY THANKFUL to you for your very LOUD AND CLEAR message to our little disrespectful, uninvited guest. He apparently did not read my initial post in which I made it clear that this forum thread was for DIGITAL DJ's; maybe he can't read.....To quote the Jerky Boys "Ya neva' neva' know..." LOL
So forget the hostility everyone! Let's focus on the goal at hand! I need all of you kicking me in the rear end to get this contset done! LOL So forget him! Who needs that kind of attitude here anyway? Not us because we are some darn awesome people and we have one hell of a contest going here!!!!! So lets get focused and we shall OVER COME! Lets get this thing done so I can hand out prizes for our incredibly talented DJ'S! Focus everyone and forget the TRASH on here.
DJ Trancedelic more power to you man and if you'd like a hook up to get some free music then hit me with a PM man! I could make your life a whole lot earier! :tongue2 |

| ....i missed the argument....LOL And i don't want to start it all over again. As the things i would say to him would probably get me banned from the forum....so i'll not say anything.....as you guys did a good enough job sticking up for us digital dj's.  |
