PS: i am not even remotely interested in buying this tower. just want to gain some knowledge!

Its because one of the benefits is a free t-shirt, but its not really free, they tack it into price which makes the price high. ;)

No, that PC really is worth that much. You could pretty much play any game on it.

but i mean what game is going to truly take advantage of the $5000 worth of hardware? to my knowledge there is half-life 2 and doom 3, both of which are playable on my $1500 pc(slightly revised).

It's not really about today, it's about the future. That PC will last you a few years, and still be up to date with the most intensive applications. I'm definitely not reccomending anyone to buy it, but it's a very great PC.

Plus it has a lot of tweaks that normal PCs don't. So you're probably paying for customization too.

Completely off topic, but I love the new sig and avatar Nou. :D

that pc will be worth not more than $1000 in one year. it basically offers you all the bleeding-edge technology in one pack... fastest cpu overclocked to its max, fastest gpu, biggest and fastest memory, all overclocked, the newest chipset, biggest harddrives, water cooling (or maybe even peltier) etc.

there are maybe 1-2 apps/games there that can leverage all this stuff now. better wait for a year and buy it 4 times cheaper, when there will actually be some use to it.

...spazzes, guidos, freaks, four-eyes, dweebs, brains, wonks, bookworms, eggheads, and squares. I repeat, calling all squares!

i know why.. it's because the people who can't take the time to build their own computer for alot less money and even more better. Besides you have the satification of having tech support when you computer breaks from somebody in either Asia or India. :D

One does not simply compute their way into Mordor.

My PC is over 6 years old and has 11 GB of HDD space and I manage :p

Good thing I'm buying a new computer within 3 weeks though :)
