WOW! somebody responded. I was sad that nobody had taken the bait on my teaser.
So it won't be it's own seperate club location, just a promotion to hopefully bring updated trance oriented events to New Orleans, based on club Heaven from Hollywood, California.

NOLA isn't too far away...

I'd love to check it out sometime.

... and where is it that ?

San Antonio is not too far by plane : )

This city doesn't support Trance for . It would be nice to check out some cities that have an appreciation for it.

That would be really cool if our Heaven promotion in NOLA started getting attendees from as far away as San Anton. I can't say NOLA has a real strong appreciation for trance as whole, but there are some. New Orleans is always a fun place to visit. Keep checking and we'll update when the time is right.

How can you say SA doesn't support Trance??? SA doesn't support any kind of good EDM. Also...all the promoters every bring to SA is trance artists. There hasn't been a headlining prog artist here for some time. Be grateful you can get AVB and Crapenfold to come. I don't see diggers or JZ EVER coming to SA.

Personally, I think AvB was a fluke. Oakie was booked and Armin just happened to be on the lineup with him. If Cyndi Lauper had been on tour with Oakie, her shrill ass would have been at Antro that night.

I have to correct you on SA only bringing Trance artists. SA is a House city and that's the majority of what is brought to town. JoJo seems to be the only promoter that has a passion for Trance and if not for him, we would not have seen Edgar V, Judge Jules, or NuNRG in Austin for that matter. SA has an opportunity to bring NuNRG in September, but because standard clubbers in this city don't know who they are, we're not going to see them.

Aside from the club scene, the underground doesn't support Trance either. Its filled with a bunch of Trance haters that mock it all the time. Its hard being a Trance DJ in this city...trust me.

I'm just saying it would be nice to go somewhere that is trying to sponsor REAL Trance nights as opposed to the Club Trance and Top 40 we have to put with over here.

To sum up the scene in SA: We are bringing in DJ IRENE in the next couple of months.

Nuff said. :wtf:

Yea...it is tough to find support for EDM here in SA. I am sure there are several reasons why it's hard to find support
1)We all like different genres of EDM
2)A lot of us may not like the venue or the clientele that normally goes there
3)Maybe people don't want to see local acts as the headliners in fears that it will be a waste of time

I think there would be more local support if there more major headliners here. I know I have found some local talent that I enjoyed because they opened for a headliner I was going for. It's not just an SA thing though about the scene being bad. A love of events I have gone to in Texas feel more like a drug house then a dance event. More then half the people there are on something. Why is it so hard to have a nice club...with a good soundsystem and a great headliner. I think it's pretty damn sad that we sometimes have to use Far West, a country club, to host EDM music events.

Sorry for my ranting.....I just get tired of getting drunk on the weekends and never having anywhere to go dance to some good music.

That's the problem with many people in this city. They never bother to support the local scene because of the fear that every show is a druggie haven. That, or they only want to see headliners at a Julio club.

Not every DJ or EDM enthusiast takes drugs or condones the use of it in public. We (DCS) work very hard to separate ourselves from the crews and individuals that promote drug use at their parties and DCS works with many DJs and crews from other cities that have a passion for music and hold themselves to a higher standard than other DJs in SA.

Ask some of your fellow TAs about DCS. Matthias, Armando, Dirk, Joel, and Edie have all been around us and know that we're good people that live for the music and can have a good mature time.

I try to post as many EDM nights in SA as I can and I can say it really bothers me to see so many SA TAs post for big events, yet more TAs from Austin come to support EDM in SA than the SA TAs do. What does that say about SA support?

I can say there is no support in SA because I experience it firsthand. There are many talented DJs of every genre from SA that are definitely worth the cost of gas to see them (we charge no cover) and anyone who comes out to support always has a great time.

We can't force promoters to bring top-rank talent to SA, but we CAN enjoy the resources we do have when it comes to EDM.

I don't mean to rant either, but it really bothers me when people pigeonhole the SA scene as a bunch of dingy-warehouse drugged-up partiers that have no idea what quality EDM is when they buy records.
