Still working on ordering some parts for it...but have ordered this...
Got the black one...
Canon EOS 350D aka Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT

2GB version of this memory card...

And since the stock lens and flash with the camera aren't the best there is (although decent for day shots)....
Will be ordering this in the next day or two...
1. A Flash
The second most powerful one in this price range. Difference between this one and the one above it is not worth the price since test show similar results.

2. Lens for lowlight shots - no zoom, no usm
Canon 50mm f/1.8 II Prime - Actually pretty cheap, only about $70...but just about all the reviews say the same thing - 1. ty plastic build (the original version was metal, but impossible to find right now), and 2. Despite that, the quality of pics it takes in lowlight is amazing, considering the price. Only a couple small things make it not as good as the EF 50mm f/1.4, but the difference is $200+...so I'm gonna take my chances...
I'm still looking for the original version which is metal and offers a couple more features, but if not will order this by Thursday.

3. Another General Lens that has a wider range than kit lens plus it's just better quality...
Depends on what I can budget...
The difference is about $165-$170.
Lower end:
Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM

Higher End:
Canon EF 28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM

| Hope you can take it to the Love Parade afterparty...any official word on the camera situation? "No camera" rules really piss me off,:whip: plus the pics people take will promote the event far better than any advertising! :happy2: |

| congrats dave. I got the digital rebel , wish i couldnt have waited but who would have known. anywhoot im happy with mine and im pretty sure you will be too. the lens it came with is good enough for me, but then i bought me a canon lens from ebay for 100 its 75-300mm, and its in like new shape, made of metal, and weighs more than the camera. I have a 512meg card and a 64, and i dont fill any of them up. I use the smallest pic setting and the pics are still outstanding. |

Man, $360 for the 28-70 and $470 for the Fisheye. Ouch.
Edit: Could get a brand new Fisheye on for $400 on ebay. Never opened. |

Clovis,
How does the Sigma 28-70mm perform in low light (ie clubs)?
I will eventually get a fisheye lens for sure, just can only buy so much right now.
And Carrie, my girlfriend will be in control of it during LP. I'll be running around everywhere keeping everyone happy, lol.
We'll have it at Markus, J00F too on Sep 3 I am sure. |

As far as I can tell (only used it like 3-4 times at a wedding) it focuses as fast if not faster than the Canon lenses you originally posted. I have the Canon 24-85 USM, same line as the two you posted, and while its good...its f/3.5-4...the Sigma is 2.8 constant...a big plus in a club.
Its not gonna be a 24-70 L professional lens, but its a good lens none the less. Had I not been stupid and wanted to get my lens just cause it said "Canon" on it I would have gotten that.
Like I said before, that fisheye is my next purchase :)
Plus on a 1.6x sensor crop like the 350D, it will look more like a really wide angle shot than a fisheye shot. |

Thanks. Once a lot of the clears and if I can fit in the budget, I might check it out. :)
