Nothing remotely related to political sigs.
If anything closely related to violations of the Constitution and/or the US Code it would be the banning of political sigs.
In our time political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible.
George Orwell
By placing discretion in the hands of an official to grant or deny a license, such a statute creates a threat of censorship that by its very existence chills free speech.
Harry A. Blackmun
If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington
Without deviation, without exception, without any ifs, buts, or whereases, freedom of speech means that you shall not do something to people either for the views they express, or the words they speak or write.
Hugo L. Black
All ideas having even the slightest redeeming social importance – unorthodox ideas, controversial ideas, even ideas hateful to the prevailing climate of opinion, have the full protection of the guarantees [of the First Amendment].

Aye. Disable scripting for www.tranceaddict.com in your browser and they won't be able to load.
I've had it that way for ages anyway because I don't like seeing ads. |

Ha, thanks. When it comes to thought provoking signatures, nothing is more acceptable (and non-offensive) than drugs and half-naked chicks on ta :p. Tolerance ... to new infinities and beyond!!! Or ... at least to the intellectually immature incapable of dealing with reasonable controversey. Gotta give credit to TheNobleEU for the theme.
Not that this is a criticism of Swamper. I simply don't know the facts behind the decision. I would hope there is some reasonalbe justification behind the decision and that's he's treading a warranted (not imaginary) line between a business model and his personal desires. However, if this is a "just to be safe", unprovoked decision than I guess it is a criticism of swamper. |

I most sincerely hope you all find this as amusing as I do...
When I returned to the TA forums just now, I noticed that our friendly neighborhood sponsors' representation had been changed from a red x to a small red rectangle, as shown here:

It took a little investigating, but eventually I found out why. Sometime in the brief period of my absence from the site a <********>********> block had "mysteriously" appeared after the ad-generating script in an attempt to still display an ad banner in the event that client-side scripting was disabled. This beginner's html trick most often used by peddlers of pornography to attempt to display advertisements on high-security systems was immediately recognized by my css filters and was appropriately removed before being loaded into my browser.
And while it is a little disappointing that the measures I employ to protect my system from unwanted parasites are suddenly being invoked on these message boards, I must also admit that I do derive a great deal of amusement from the sort of pathetic desperation which characterizes the means by which TA's "sponsors" try to get their uninteresting and unwanted message across.
I do hope that TA's sponsors will continue to exhibit the same combination of determination and incompetence in the future. I'm sure it's far more edifying than any of the services that they intentionally provide. |

The sig is back? =)
Anyhow, an idea to inverse the political correctness bull of this site. If the reason for banning political sigs indeed is that the sponsors dont want that, why dont we all email every sponsor of this site, and ask them something like: "How can you be the sponsor of this website, it supports censorship? Bla bla bla. I will always boycott your product/service." By that we could possible archieve two things, either the company rethinking if being that anti politics really is a good idea, or the company contacts swamper and wounders what the hell is going on.
Most likely nothing would happen, but i still think that we should do something. Cause we are all politically interested in here, and most of us would agree that this is actually a problem, not only a joke. The political correctness and the fear of takeing sides is becomming an increadibly big problem in society, and we should all do something to stop it, and turn it around.
I do realise this is only a message board and it doesnt really matter at all, but its just that everything should be done to stop this imo quite big problem that we only can see a litle part of here at this message board.
