Miscomunication!
I'll try to rephrase my desire...
Rainbow in english means "Bow made of Rain"
Rainbow in French means "Arc in the Sky"
Rainbow in Korean is "Mu-Ji-Geh", but what does that mean? Yes it means rainbow, but its three words, so maybe those three words individually translate to "Coloured Sky Lights" or something.
Or the russian "Raduga" might be 2 russian words "Ra + Duga" which mean "Burning Sky" etc.
I would like to know those meanings more than the actual literal translation if that is clearer. I'd use babel fish, but it doesn't work for this kind of thing, I need people :) |

Portuguese: arco-íris
Edit:
Arco means Arch.
Íris could mean:
- That coloured bit of our eye
- Coloured beams that involve images
- Light levels controlling device, in an optical instrument
- Some kind of plants
- Some kind of quartz
I'd guess it's the coloured beams one but this is a very rare meaning, which I didn't know myself. |
