DJ wise I think Sasha and Danny Tenaglia should be in the top 3 of this years list. The are leaps and bounds ahead of the industry music wise and party wise.

I do think tho that Tiesto will win again.

EDIT: Since my post doesn't make sense. Let's make it clear. :p

I vote:

Sasha
Danny Tenaglia
Steve Lawler
Chus & Ceballos
Steve Angello
Gamma
Kevin Harcourt

I'm willing to put 100$ on Tiesto winning again this year, anyone wanna take me up on that offer?

<- dead serious

I wonder if the bookies are taking bets in the UK, and what his odds would be...

I have said it before and say it again and i will keep sayin it .... Tiesto Who

Anyways ... my 2005 votes uptill now looks like as follows but it could change towards the end of the year if some of the other Djs pull some superb stuff in coming months.

Christopher Lawrence
Paul Van Dyk
Yoji Biomehanika
Marcel Woods
Ferry Corsten

Agreed.

I base my votes it on a combo of events I've attended, other DJ sets including essential mixes, and production work...#5 is reserved for a local.

1. Armin van Buuren - it's Armin...nuff said...CDs, ASOT, live, etc.

2. James Zabiela - kick ass show at Guv early this year, brilliant Utilities Mix CD set.

3. Danny Teneglia - party of 2005 (so far)

4. Markus Schulz - great production work, Miami '05 CD set rocks, looking forward to LOL in KH to hear him live again, as he was very good @ Guv in '04.

5. Sydney Blu - my local vote...she's be in my top 10 this year regardless...always spins a fun set, no matter the venue, event or audience...love her!

but it's only August...a bit early for "best of 2005" lists!

So can britney spears. So what?

There is a huge trance backlash in europe right now thanks to tiesto and his "concerts". As i said, it seems his biggest fans are pre-pubecents. Hes somewhat of a boy band LOL!!

Oh well, good for him. Ill never bash success. But it doesnt mean i will take him seriously as a DJ.

Armin desereves to be #1 this year, but I would like to see PVD get #1 spot. ANd we all know it will be tiesto again who'll take this spot.

I like all 3 of them, but i am not voting, since it's just a popularity contest.

Hm. I remember being told that Tenaglia played some sort of retro house at the party in May. How exactly is that "leaps and bounds ahead of industry" ? :clown:

As far as Sasha goes: When he was going back to back with Lawler, I literally cried from pain and my ears bled when it was Sasha's turn. Things got back to normal when Lawler was in control.

As far as the top 10. Tiesto is most likely to win, but I wouldn't bet on it. Remember - the list is based on votes from people who know about DJ Mag. A lot of new Tiesto fans have no clue about that magazine. They just buy his albums at a store, go to his parties, and that's it. They are not going to vote. And those who voted for Tiesto last year, might have changed their minds, and are now going to vote for somebody else.

The key here is how well promoted that voting is. If they promote it a lot, and a lot more NEW people vote, then Tiesto is going to win.
