I was raised as a Roman Catholic. Not too much of a practicing Catholic though. As of now I really dont consider myself a Catholic anymore. |
Same situation here.... but I guess I could consider myself Agnostic now.. |

what exactly is satanism |
| quote: | | Because Satan is the accuser of all gods and religions, the rebel in the world of theology, and the firm and powerful denial of gods. Satan wishes to kill god, and we feel this is a good cause. Given that gods do not exist, we're all already Satanists. The Church of Satan is however for those who feel that abstinence is not enough, mere atheism does not have the sharp edge of Satanism. Satanism is not a religion, it is the unreligion. |
or something like that |

i think christianity is bull...don't get me started on like scientology :p
i was raised with no real religion
mother was catholic although not huge on it or anything, and my dad was quaker
quarkerism(?) is actually pretty good from all i've been reading about
founded on tolerance etc blablabla, but the key beliefs (of certain sects of course), is that everyone has an inner spirit said to reflect the light of christ. while i don't believe in christ really, it still hints more towards the idea that humans are the divine, not fictional god figures
personally, i'd say i lean towards buddhism or quakerism |
Quakers are funny cause they don't believe in reproducing themselves apparently ..... so every year they like all dissapear :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

let me answer this one.
one person cannot be better than another person.
one can be more inteligent than another.
one can be more attractive to the opposite sex than another.
one can be more talented in a certain area than another.
etc. (and these are relative as well).
one person, as a whole, cannot be 'better' than another. and certainly what you choose to believe about the unknown does not make you better or worse than someone who believes differen't (well excluding creationists :toothless, althought that's not really an unknown).
if you are serious with this question, than you've got issues my friend. |

| By principle, the censuses in religious matter are prohibited in France. One of the studies being taken in this field is that carried out every three years by institute CSA. In 2004, the investigation into a sample of 18 068 people, indicates that 27 % of the French are declared atheistic and 64,3 % catholic (69 % in 2001), that is to say approximately 30 million adults compared with only 4 million adults for all the other religions. |

being more intelligent, and more talented, and more open minded, et cetera, makes one person better than another in my opinion.
did my last post make you think less of me?
if so, then my traits (and especially my beliefs) have made you see me as a lesser person.
in other words, if that last sentece is correct, you're a hypocrite. |

haha, no, just because you've got issues about status and self worth does not make you lesser than me. I'll say it again, you can be particularly better in an area (many areas for that matter) but it doesn't make you a better person/soul/spirit whatever.
i suppose if you want to look at things from a superficial perspective, than yes, you could say what your saying, i suppose. but even then things get very relative. a person could be very goodlooking, intelligent, talented etc. but still be a raging . is he still better than the guy who flunked school and doesn't have standard good looks but is a caring person with many friends? And even intelligence itself is very relative; you could be well educated but still be a dense n00blar when it comes to, say, interpersonal relationships.
there are many gauges used to rank human aspects, but it's not as if these gauges can be added up for one final guage of worthyness as a human being; being that most of the gauges are flawed and useless anyway.
so to say that certain attributes/beliefs/talents make you a better person is quite a naive statement. but that doesn't make you a lesser person. ;) |
