FBI Confirms Existance of "Magic Lantern". [General] [RedDwarf@11:42AM EST]
"An FBI spokesman confirmed on Wednesday that the U.S. government is working on a controversial Internet spying technology, code-named ``Magic Lantern'', which could be used to eavesdrop on computer communications by suspected criminals."

"Magic Lantern reportedly would allow the agency to plant a Trojan horse keystroke logger on a target's PC by sending a computer virus over the Internet, rather than require physical access to the computer as is now the case."

WOW ! you lot do get carried away,he he

OK *stands on soap box*

A: DCC in IRC for shareing files such as MP3 or Warez is Illegal.
B: File send in programs such as ICQ for MP3 or Warez is Illegal.
C: Putting Warez and MP3 on websites for download is Illegal.
D: Burning Warez and MP3 to CDr for distribution to others is Illegal.

*Note* Where i use MP3 i mean Illegaly copied Music and not the few legal ones that are around, such as those distributed by MP3.com

Any method of shareing / trading warez / copyrighted Music is Illegal.

*Note* The only legal use of copyrighted music in MP3 form is if u make a copy of Music u already own and that copy is for your use only.

Next Point, Supply and Demand. Where there is a Demand for a product, illegal or legal there will always be a supplier no matter if its Copyrighted music, Warez or Drugs.

So a few sites have been closed and some cracked / warez software may be harder to find for a while but sooner or later someone else will come along and take up where they left off.
EG. Napster ! Napster came, grew huge, got closed down, Audiogalaxy took its place, Kazaa took its place.
2 massive file shareing networks instead of the ONE.

And when those 2 go more will take their place.
As long as MP3 is a popular format then MP3 on the net will be available.

I myself have not used audiogalaxy for months for getting MP3, even when Napster was up and running, i hardly used that either, there are so many places online where u can find MP3, u just got to work maybe that little bit harder to obtain them.

And again, a point that was already raised, Anyone with a Turntable, CD player and an internet connection can rip and put a MP3 online.

I also agree and have made this point many times on this forum that MP3 is a great form of promotion for artists. Specily Trance !
And a great many trance artists / DJ's know that and acknowledge that fact.
It is true also that since MP3 and Napster that record sales specily albums have gone up and not down, simply due to ppl DLing a MP3 or 2 from an album and then going out and buying that album, PPL in the USA for example have been introduced to Trance cos of MP3 and that has increased sales too.

But, no matter what a specific DJ or artist knows and acknowledges, its the guys in the record companies that consider each MP3 distributed via the net is money out of thier pockets.
Its very few artists / DJs that go after MP3 groups, its the record companies.

Anyway i am drifting off topic now, there is no need to lose your heads and worry cos a few sites and a few ppl got busted, as long as there is a demand, there will always be a supply.

*hops off soapbox*

Peace :)
