Guess who has the second largest oil source in the world?
Not venezuela, not kuwait, not iraq, not UAE.
Nope none of those...
CANADA DOES!
So why are we paying what we are paying for gas? Why cant we also have 12 cents a gallon like in venezuela. After all it is OUR resource. If they can do this why cant we? |

I can't help noticing that the United States is not on any of these lists.
Come on, it's nothing to be proud of that we're better off than the failing Asian provinces or the bloated European bureaucracies. What people should be paying attention to are the places with lower prices - notice a pattern? |

I thought it's because imported oil is a hell of a lot cheaper than oil we extract from the Alberta Tar Sands... That's EXPENSIVE to do.
{edit} Fuad, I don't even want to know how much that boxer six sucks up. |

Ours comes straight from the ground. The tar sands is a future project yet to be built. |

The other places you are talking about also already have programs in place to encourage and promote gasoline substitutes, such as diesel, hybrid, etc. In Canada, due to our strict emission laws, we nearly don't have the diesel capability that we could, so we are screwed over by the gas prices. |
