oakey hands down.. i think this was in the new BPM magazine as well they were comparing the 2. They were comparing which dj'have performed for major events and so far tiesto tied oakenfold when he played at Disney World. Anyways I think Oakenfold has done more with Trance he pretty much led trance to what it is now. Another thing is Oakenfold gave Tiesto his first big gig as well. Oakenfold Ruled trance and still kinda does... ya he has sucked latley with a couple of his cd releases, his concerts might not be as intense as before and his mixing might be getting a little off but the man has been in the game since the start..

FINALLY...people saying good things abour paul. His sets back in the day were just...brilliant. I even think his sets nowadays are great. Oakenfold...my fav dj and always will be.

Oaky in 1999 fair enuf he was the daddy. The Lotherton Halls EM prob goes down as the greatest set ever or its very close trance wise.

But me personally i prefer Tiesto circa 2000-2002. Just prefer the tunes he played then than Oaky. I was never one for the "1999 anthems" and am still not.

Oakey, for sure. Hands down.

Dont get me wrong, i like tiesto, and i love some of his mixes, but going back to my younger days, thinking how i felt then, tiesto doesnt even come close to oakey. The shear anticipation people would get before he came on was awesome, you could feel it building, people would be looking at each other going oakeys on soon, and when he did, ouch. I've never felt so off this planet in all my life. The energy he gives is just something else.

I went to the closing party of the courtyard @ cream a few years back, was on a sunday night, hernan was on before hand. I've never ever seen a place erupt like it did that night, oakey was with it, he was into the crowd and damn, everyone was into him.

He was the first dj i ever saw, and in my eye no one will ever put me where he has.:eyes:
