I haven't voted but my initial list is....
1. Phil K
2. Sander K
3. Sasha
4. Matthew Dekay
5. James Zabiela
Phil K is the new king of the year. His creativity, technical prowess, track selection and willingness to take chances in his sets is a breathe of fresh air.
Sander Kleinenberg is another innovator. Though not as technically skilled as Phil, his sets during WMC, here in Atlanta has really impressed me. I'll never forget that slowed down dnb track he played that sounded like a breakbeat. Good stuff from him as always.
Sasha dropped out of the #1 spot due to his unimpressive set here in Atlanta, his dull essential mix, and his Fundacion CD. Though his Orlando set and a few others have kept him from sliding further.
Matthew Dekay... I haven't heard too much from him but of the four sets, I loved it. Hope to hear more.
He's just cool to watch. Down to earth, great skills. What more can I say.
Big Losers In 2005?
Armin van Buuren - His Shivers album is poor. He does the bare minimum in mixing and I'm suppose to be impressed?
Tiesto - His concerts are ridiculous. |
