Okay, so the club and sound system sucked, BUT Matt Darey kicked ASS!!! (I missed Second Sun) and I really got into his set and had a fantastic time with all my (TA) friends... so great to see you guys!

Lucky I got there late, sometime after 4, so I didn't have to deal with the line "situation" outside. Sorry to hear about that.
:( That's pretty f***ed up! Definitely better to get there later I guess??

For me, a great night overall!:D

+1.

We saw the masses outside the club when we got to downtown  but we did car bar for a while (which was a blast!) so there was NOBODY in line by the time we decided to go in. We caught only the end of Second Sun's set so I don't know how it was but Matt Darey was absolutely awesome! We had a fun night despite the crappy venue and sound. It was great to party with so many fellow TAs and other friends (glad to see you after a while, John!)!!! :happy2:

P.S. Just curious: why does Heaven get all the blame for the problems when it was just one of the three promoters throwing the event, and that doesn't even include the venue itself....:conf: I don't think Heaven will ever want to have any part with events at 740 again...
DjWoody
Why would Heaven not want to deal with 740? Red didn't have issues whith them when they brought Judge Jules... So maybe it's unfair for us to say Heaven, but they are the ones that represented that party on this board. I'm sure that's why everyone said Heaven. That said, I'll take the word HEAVEN out of my replies and say THE PROMOTERS... :)

You play House, Hard House and Drum and Bass, yet I notice that you also like Black Metal; do you think you could DJ for a rock night somewhere?

Wouldn't that be awesome!? I definitely think I could DJ for a rock night somewhere at some point. Black Metal and Death Metal are also my favorite styles of music and my name actually comes from my favorite Death Metal band called Cannibal Corpse! The vocalist from Cannibal Corpse is named Corpse Grinder and the band's sound is so heavy so one day I decided to call myself Heavygrinder...

How much modelling do you do?

Umm, I don't consider myself much of a model any longer. I was modeling from the age of 12 to 18 and now I pretty much take the jobs that come to me. Modeling is fun. Also, being in front of the camera is something I grew up with so I enjoy doing it when I can.

Very good point, Element Radio, Heaven and Godskitchen where the main promotors behind the party.
I might get in trouble for saying this... but the element radio guy was an ASS that night! He was the one calling all the shots of who was getting in and who wasn't and how much to pay..
I rememer that there was this one guy who bought a Table.. Leon told This dude to let him in and he was an ass and said No!!! This Guy also was an Ass to Pat the godskichen guy there too. too me no one had a say in what was going on only the this guy did

From the looks of the Vanguard flyer I got at TiC, Heaven won't be having a part in any events anywhere for awhile :wtf: Are they getting a new venue?
RealRaver
For me, coming from outta town...I didn't really have a problem getting in. Although, I did have 2 friends that were on the guest list..me I just prepaid, by the time I got to 740 it was around 3am and my friends were near the front of the line...when they went in, so did I. After I got thru all the crap as far as getting in, then I talked to the prepaid dude, with the list.

Second Sun kicked ass, regret missing them here in Phx the Thursday prior and will regret missing them possibly on the 9th of Sept..

Matt Darey, well I thought his set was good at first...but wtf, some tracks kept sounding like they were remixes of the same track...wish I could give you track names, but all the extra ear noise made me want to cringe.

One may have thought the sound guys might have gotten the hint with all the peeps holding their ears..:conf:

Was a great night overall, made me miss living in a city with a real nitelife. Whatever good things you hear about Phoenix, it really isn't true.
