| Meenedit is not trying to troll. He's just THAT naive, He's always been like that. Never ceases to amaze me with the comments he comes up with. He has been like that for the past 4 years. You old school TAs should know better and just laugh it off. :p |

| I used to like it back then. It's alright, with quite an original melody, but a bit too uplifting for my tastes. I think Francois Chabloz made several better tracks. |

...and it never ceases to amaze me that not ONE single person on this site knows what I mean by good trance  |

| Your a couple years late on this one man, and you can't judge an old tune by today's standards. |

I'd be interested to know your definition of "good trance" considering you've shown yourself to have exceptionally poor taste in nearly every genre of music known to man. Please share. |

I dont know why I bother but I have a new angle on it now because I have found something else I can use as an example.
I'll start off by saying what I normally say...
Good Trance:
Trance that doesnt have ty sounding drums and synths. You'll notice that older trance tunes (the ones that people recommend to you here) have really sharp res synths that sound awful.
You might have noticed that new Trance contains really nice smooth synths and people don't seem to be using ty drums anymore.
...not that any of you will ever understand. |

but this goes back to what i said on the first page..
viola is a classic. a dated classic, but classic non-the-less. The reason it's a classic is because when it came out it was a very unique and pleasant tune. it's softer and very colorful melody stood out and gave many of us that heard it when it came out a memorable experience. since then there have been SO MANY rip offs and copy-cats to this kind of style. simply listening to it nowadays without the same wonder and mystery it had when it was first introduced makes it sound like a cheap version of many of the trance songs available today.
really I feel kinda bad for you that you didn't experience these wonderful types of tunes when they were emerging (i'm assuming you didn't). at the time this type of sound was so new and the production quality was moving like wild fire. nowadays it's more of a slow trickle..
edit: i agree with you todays trance is much more fuller and better, but without these kinds of 'breakthrough' songs others would not exist. |
