I only went to the hospital in college when I had a big f*cking gash on my head that took about 10 stiches and the other time when I fell off of a cliff and was all f*cked up. They were both probably drinking related anyway...

an interesting fact...

germany's driving age:: 18
america's driving age:: 16

germany's drinking age:: 16
america's drinking age:: 21

germany's car accident death rate:: (.75/100,000)
america's car accident death rate:: (.85/100,000)

seems to me, if you lower teh drinking age, people can learn how to drink more responsibly. no excuse for drunk driving, they should be punished just the same, but for those just looking for a good time, they should be allowed it.

There is no universal driving age in the US. Some states it is as low as 16, others it is as high as 18. And the difference in car accident death rate you have there is pretty miniscule.

well, its just that the difference between a 4.5% beer and a 5.5% beer can end up ING you if you dont plan around that fact. It took me a long time to be able to sit and say "ok, 4 bud lights, a henrys, and I just shotgunned 2 of the BEAST, how many shots of tequila can I take before I will be horribly sick?"

that isnt an easy answer!

At least 4 shots of Tequilla. I can drink them virtually forever if I got the salt and lime...

i really dont see that much of a problem with alcohol as long as people are responsible about it. if you're going to drink, watch what you drink and watch how much you consume and how much alcohol is in it. dont be stupid and get in the drivers seat of a car and done just start pounding down more and more liquor even after you can hardly stand up.

as long as people are intelligent about it, by all means, go out and have fun. it just sickens me when people are stupid about it.

theres a girl whos my age who back in middle school was with her family driving home from some thing late at night and some drunk dumb was driving down the wrong side of the highway and hit their car. her mom and brother were killed i believe and she's paralized from the waste down.

like that is just dumb. i personally dont agree with the 21 drinking age although if people are going to be too ignorant to learn the responsibility behind drinking at a younger age, then i'll deal with the 21 law and be one of the smart ones.

yeah my dad tells me all the time about how it was only 18 to drink and buy booze.

And see the thing about drunk driving in other countries (especially Europe) is that they have phenomenal mass transits systems and their countries are typically smaller. plus the penalties for drinking and driving are harsher then they are in the US.

I lived in Ireland for 6 months and it's so easy to rely on cabs, railways and buses. its not the same here in the US where going to a party miles away means u have to drive your own car.

and i know thats a pretty way of arguing the point, but unfortunately its the truth. i know so many people that would rather drive themeselves to a party then shell out some cash for a taxi-cab.

its a mentality issue.
