3,000 more troops are on their way into the city, but apparently the municipal authorities are begging for more federal support.
Has Bush made any formal statements yet? wtf |
Only thing i heard was yesterday, that he 'cancled' the rest of his vacation to attend to matters. |

I honestly do not think you would want to be there on your new flat screen or not. You are seriously under estimating what is going on there.
Rains are expected tonight which will only add to the chaos.
If you still think it would be fun(ny), maybe on second thoughts you should be there to see it first hand. Let me know how it sounds hearing people screaming for their lives to be saved while being trapped in their attics as the flood waters rise while you float by on your flat screen. |

The Texas gov has just declared the Astro dome a long term refugee housing unit. He is also allowing for all school aged children to attend texas schools where they will be living for the mean time.
He has also given up 500 busses to try and start evacuating the superdome. It's touching how texas is stepping up its help efforts.
The gov of texas was saying that he felt humble knowing that it could have been texas that was hit. |

| most of Mumbai, india was flooded for over a week last month (about 5-6 feet deep at most places)...did anyone even mention it?? |

I was actually aware of it. It's been a rough year mass flooding all over the world. My sympathies go out to everyone invovled in any natural disaster area.
My main beef in here is people joking around about the issue wishing they were insurance adjusters and what not. Regardless of where the incident happened I think people could behave in a slightly more human manner. |

| I just watched the news and the water is STILL coming because of the broken levees:sadgreen:...Even the governor was saying that people should abandon the city:nervous: ...truly a huge disaster and my heart goes out to the people of New Orleans. |
