Oh yeah, its his fault:rolleyes:
Lets not blame under inflated prices, and stupidly high consumer demand over the last 30 years. Don't forget about the people buying SUVs, and pushing up the average consumption of gas, and increasing demand.
This has been a long time in the making. |
Funny how the bulk of the increase has occured in the last few years since the invasion of Iraq. |

This is when the opposition and Harper stop talking about gay marriage, military or any bull like that and promise a high relief on gas prices. Make it a law or something that gas never goes above 80cents. Instant election.
Regardless, the gov must step in and do something significant about this. |
the government actually do anything about something? Yeah right...
But dont worry... we are all safe from smokers, pit bulls and trans fats!! |

so why doesnt he put the money where his mouth is and drop the provincial gas taxes?
Mcguinty is nothing but a buck passer. |

The TTC's motto of "the better way" has never been more true. I feel bad for all you who have to drive. Working in town and living on the subway line, I'm not affected by gas prices at all yet. However, we are all going to start feeling the pinch once these crazy gas prices start to cause a rise in inflation.
Alternative sources of energy make more sense than ever....lets hope the powers that be stop getting their palms greased by the oil companies and start thinking of our short and long term future. |

hopefully now we can think about building normal communities instead of sprawling car ghettos. Wasting less space such as huge pieces of dead lawn space between highways and gigantic parking lots for example. Perhaps now we can make use of existing train tracks and build new ones and start building communities around train stations instead of cul de sacs.
Alas thats asking for "vision" from people in this country and the only vision people here ever see is their next paycheque :whip: :whip: |

| Why does every person who takes the TTC think those buses and power used by subway/LRT get enery from some magical source, and they won't be affected? Gas prices flucuate quickly, toll and fees are going to go up on everything, the airlines already levy a fuel charge now, won't be long before everything goes up in price including all these TTC riders. |

| Did I not read somewhere correctly, Venezuela is the 2nd largest exporter of oil to the United States, only behind CANADA?! (Something like that) So why is it Venezuela can supply themselves with Cheap oil ($0.12USD/Gallon) and Canada can't do the same. We produce like 3+ million barrels a day and consume 2.3. |

Hence my comment about inflation.....TTC riders are aware we'll be hit, it just hasn't happened yet.
Plus, fare prices have been comparitively rising faster than gas prices over the past several years...so we've got some room to breathe for a bit. |

well, one good thing is that i won't have a car for a month while it is getting repaired.
so i don't have to pay for the gas for it.
once rental runs out, i'm done for. |
