nah its not like that. I like Cave not because its techno because I'm a big sucker for anything which tastes tribalism. May it be house, techno or trance.
Do you have anything close to Cave which you can recommend? |
Just throwing in some random names, might or might not be to your liking though:
Preach
Ben Sims
Valentino Kanzyani
Christian Varela
They all spin quite a bit of tribal.. |

Sorry, it wasn't meant as an attack. I should've made that clearer. I was just making a point about all the stuff that gets labeled as "prog" when it's blatantly trance, just not with arpegs, snare rolls and not running @ 140 BPM. |

Eh? Well, I wouldn't call this new but it's been lodged in my head the most lately:
Peyote - I Will Fight No More Forever |

Some good tunes! Obviously a huge style difference than what is played by popular trance DJs but some tunes could fit in their sets. Overall ,however, I think the majority listen to tech and house progressive with some psy influences. Im not going to say it is better because there is a huge style difference and even genre difference at times.
If you wanted to know I listen to both sides. I love Zabiela, John Flemming, PvD, Armin, Sasha, and Tiesto. I must be one of the few that listen to a large spectrum of EDM. I do admit that I only spend probably two hours or so a week looking at new tunes and reading information on the scene so my knowledge base and lack of music might be a reason why I listen to different genres that seem to hate each other.
thanks though, much appreciated |
