In 3 weeks it's my mums 50th and I'm at a total loss of what to get her, Any good suggestions that don't cost the earth, but are good ideas ?

You can offer her a day in a spa/thermal center. You can be sure that she will appreciate it!

this is something I considered already, need to find a centre that's pretty local, but I'd really like her to have something longer lasting (sorry Jason, a 5 minute 'floorfill' won't suffice) like jewellery or maybe write 'happy birthday mum' in permanent marker on her forehead

an expensive bottle of wine and a giftcard for a day spa so she can go get her nails done or something...

or u can go the extra mile like i did for my mom last christmas and go the spa and arrange her entire day and pay for everything including the tip...

i got her a 50 minute swedish massage, a european facial including an anti-aging moisture mask, a spa lunch, and then a manicure and a pedicure...my dad/stepdad never even did that for her, so it was the best present she ever got:)

i dunno how much money ur planning on spending though...that cost me $300...but u can get her like a $25 bottle of wine and then like a $25 giftcard for a spa..that should do it.

financial limitations reduce me to a max of roughly $70-100 tho I've already paid equiv of $50 for her to go on a short city break to amsterdam in july with my cousins & my aunties (all the girls in the family went)

i was going to suggest a week in marrakech but since you're on a budget go with the spa thing

well then go with what i said...wine + spa giftcard = HAPPY MOTHER:D

partners get jewellery for each other, not sons for mothers

exactly, my mums seperated from my dad, she works her guts out to help us out, she's been doing 3 jobs until recently where health issues have stopped her doing 2 of them, and her days were sometimes 15 hours long of work, she gets no major thanks from anyone else, so being able to spoil her on her 50th is something I ought to be able to do.

My dad turned to his 50th some weeks ago so I know how it's difficult to find a present for that.

So what I did with my brother , we took my camera and asked all the family and dad's friends , how they consider him and asked them 3 questions (every time the same questions). Just produce a small movie after that. He was pretty happy. (Of course you need a camera :-/)
