I can't stand these comments. They are based on nothing, but some people's arrogance to make sweeping alligations with no proof. I have disagreed with his presidency from the very beginning, but these comments only further divide our already divided country. The best part of all, they are based on nothing but frustration. Yes, efforts didn't get their quick enough, then again this is the worst natural disaster or otherwise the U.S. has ever seen on its soil. On the Chicago fire can compare and that was over a century ago. Show me proof, perhaps a memo that Bush sent out that says F Black people, F New Orleans, but damn I can't help liking jazz music.

no the white people have a loaf of bread and some water. also, the mayor of new orleans admitted that most of the looters were blacks who were drugies but don't try to tell that to the people who insist this is oh so racist. not to mention this article was written by two different people

you moron.. i was watching TV with eye witness accounts of countless whites and hispanics that were looting too. This one woman admitted to stealing baby food and diapers becusae she needed them for her baby.

Im sure anyone who was desperate for food, clothing or water, would take anything in their path if they could. Its come to the point that there are more important things than concentrating on people who are looting kmart and walmart. There are lives that need to be saved.

what does that have to do with anything I said you retard? :haha:

exectly, whites were looting too so how was the pictures racist? if it's written by two different people then it's not one person categorizing people. what about all the other posts and the thread where a black man writes about black people looting?

oh i'm sorry they are so INNOCENT and all the stereotypes aren't true. I have tons of black friends who said " what a bunch of ing ni&*ers giving us a bad image". Oh and if that's not proof enough how about Angola Federal Prison's popullation, last time I checked it was largely African Americans.

Why don't you counter what trancaholic or any of the PRACTICAL and not little pessimistic posts that FireStar3r made?

Well not quite the "ing truth". As I outlined here:

http://www.tranceaddict.com/forum/s...12&pagenumber=1

The Hurricane itself wasn't upgraded to a troubling Cat 3 until SATURDAY - less than 48 hrs. before it hit land. To which Gov. Blanco declared a State of Emergency following that upgrade on SATURDAY. NOw keep in mind that the levees were supposed to withstand a Cat 3 hurricane, so the threat wasn't quite as dire just yet. After State of Emergency was declared, the DHA and FEMA were given full authority to respond to Katrina:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/rele...20050827-1.html

It wasn't until Sunday morning when the necessity for a mandatory evacuation was given:

http://www.nola.com/newslogs/breaki..._08.html#074564

So keep in mind - it wasn't really even clear that the hurricane was comin' to NO until Thursday or so. These people down there have seen hurricanes come and go and have lived through the rain and some flooding.

But it's been quite some time since the levees broke, and it was clear that it wasn't until Saturday when it was upgraded to a Cat 3 and headed right toward NO when the situation started to become dire. The mandatory evacuation was on SUNDAY, mind you, so you tell me - you think these people below were able to hobble their asses out of town on their own?:

Or maybe they should have simply "stolen" a car and drove their asses out, right?

Please consider the full picture here.

^^^Anyoe care to blame the Mayor? It is his town first and foremost. He should have had a real workable plan for evacuating the town...it's not like he didn't know all about where N.O. stood in terms of vulnerability to flooding, he's the Mayor for godsakes! I've never heard of that town having evacuation drills either.

It's just amazing to me how this is all somehow Bush's fault.........it's pathetic really, these odd attempts to pin everything on the man. What? Is everyone in the media and the government afraid to say anything against a black Mayor because, well...HE's BLACK?

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!?!?! IN THIS COUNTRY!?!?! :eyespop: Wow...who'd have thought it.

Infact, when the congressional investigation concludes, many will be blamed. But most of all, the whole system of chain of comamnd will be scrutinised, the delay in response was mainly to miscommunication between different levels of govt.

But for now, we can conclude that the fault likes mostly at local levels, and so does Homeland Security.

"The breakdown of the relief operation in New Orleans was the result of multiple failures by city, state and federal authorities." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4216508.stm
