You dont have to, check www.alienware.com , they have a good configuration utility online. Very nice. You can customize and select almost every component. I think now the configuration starts around $1,500 for a 7700. I just wen overboard with mine and topped it.

I was thinking of buying one also, but I'm waiting for the next version to come out. The reason is that it is supposed to have a large amount of onbard memory.

You need more than 2GB?? I think the new ones which support the x64 OS and processors go upto 4GB. Not sure though.

And also do you think them Alien ware Laptops are worth it?

:conf:

Alien ware laptops are some of the most powerful laptops on the market.

But unless you have a serious need for that much power on the go there's little justification for buying one.

What are your needs?

7700 is for extreme gamers, the kinds that go to LAN parties. But its deff not something you can carry around everyday and everywhere. Also its power hungry..without it plugged into a socket.....the battery will take you as far as 30 minutes. So....you are better off with the Alienware Sentia...cheaper...smaller...ripped down version of the 7700 with sleeker looks and yeah the logo that you want. :tongue2
