I feel like crying....

Cubase gets an error when it opens my latest track. It was really good too, and I'm so pissed off that track was 90% done. This has happened before too. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Is there a way to recover anything?
TaylorR
well, im thinking that if its cubase that is the problem and not the track file then it should be good. Probably have to reinstall cubase and all of ur VST's again to get rid of the error **DONT DELETE YOUR TRACK FILE**..put it in a different folder or something outside of Cubases's folder in case u have to uninstall Cubase. After that, try opening up cubase again and if there is no error then open up the track file.
Something like this happened to me with FL Studio. The track file was ok, program wasn't. had to reinstall everything and then i opened up the program. opened up the track file and right after i did....i got to see my hard work back on the sequencer. Good luck.
TVG
But the program still works for other projects.
aquila
Reinstall cubase and your instruments all the same - just to be sure.
Thois
wtf? my guess is your project file is just corrupted, nothing you can do about it. Good learning moment, always save your project twice (second time under another filename for backup purposes)
Project 7
it may help if you posted teh error
Timothy
If you have autosave enabled, a backup copy must be somewhere on your hard drive.
Chronosis
Yeah, always use auto save. I have it set to 10 min interval.
DigiNut
Did Cubase crash when you saved the file? If so then you're probably f@cked...

This is why I save a new version of my project every time I've made significant changes - I *know* Cubase will bugger it up otherwise!
TVG
Yeah it's my fault. At least I learned I should save multiple copys. That's a pretty bad bug though. Thx guys.

I wouldn't have thought its just a cubase problem because it happened to me with one of my tracks in Fruity Loops. Think it could depend of the amount of vst's and fx's that you use too or maybe thats just me.
TVG
I read somewhere that it was a known bug in Cubase when the track had over a certain amount of memory used. This track did have a lot of stuff. Could be the same for FL I donno.
